Summary: Full of chuckles
Review: The radio waves are full of white men complaining about everyone and everything. (Yesterday I heard some guy spouting off angrily about comments made by Morgan Freeman...Freeman's an actor, not a policy maker or civic leader, why get all worked up over his opinions?) And they can't seem to make a point without throwing out the word "liberal" or the name "Kennedy". So it was fun to read Moore's book, which went completely in the other direction, while still acknowledging the flaws of the Clinton administration.

The book was a refreshing, irreverent look at modern politics, and an amusing way for me to see how left wing I'm not (it's all a matter of degree).

Summary: Frankensteins and Empty Numbers
Review: What is the point of this book? To engage, outrage and make you laugh. To the people who give the book bad reviews and hide behind ther argument about misleading facts and a biased source, I say "duh"! Hello? Why assume this book is more than it was probably even meant to be. You are slaying your own creation and that's incredibly easy. Plain and simple, Michael Moore has a big heart and he generally wants to see the best in people and he is doing his part to inspire others to go out there, get interested and get aware (people who dwell on the problems with facts and numbers are NOT aware of the book, but the smallest part of the book). To those trying to push the "walk the walk" spiel on him, saying he is using an "evil corporation" as the publisher, I say, if the enemy is going to let you use their weapons against them, you would be stupid NOT to. This book is a funny read, an inspiring read by a funny, compassionate and inspiring man. If you care SO much about all the facts being 100% on, go read your big screen televisions technical manual. I hope you are happy with your numbers. If you care about the ill state of the nation and the government, if you care about compassion and human decency, and you care about being entertained while being informed, read Michael Moore's "Stupid White Men"; a great American book by a great American hero.

Summary: Reader in Dallas
Review: I was truly impressed to the point of writing my first Amazon review. The book is so revealing and important and yet humorous at the same time, that I feel that as many people need to read this as possible. Moore is not just going after the current power base, but looking at the underlying issues that are hurting us at home and in the eyes of the world. This could be the book that creates a movement that will bring America into the consciousness we need to truly make a difference at home and abroad, and stop the hatred of our country that has made us the target for terrorism. I'm just waiting for it to come out in paperback to buy a number of them to give away. Read it!

Summary: Go Michael, It's Your Birthday!
Review: Michael Moore speaks for a segment of the population that doesn't get heard that often. Rather than offer up dissent for the sake of dissent, he backs up his arguments with facts while making you laugh about it at the same time. It's amazing that this book was written before 9.11 and Enron. Michael is obviously a very sharp individual as he touched on these topics frequently. Definitely an must read for anyone who wants real change in the US of A!

Summary: No One is Spared
Review: I keep reading this book over and over again. For those who seem to think Moore only attacks the Conservatives, read the book again! No one is spared. I have a liberal bias. I admit it and I'm proud of it, but Mike didn't spare Clinton any more than he spared our Thief in Chief. The thing that separates this book from a lot of whining is that Moore has facts to back up statements. He cites all sources and his sources are responsible. Read this book. Get angry and then get motivated to finally become part of the politics of our country.

Summary: Mike Tells it Like He Sees It - How Refreshing
Review: Michael Moore does an excellent job laying out the often underreported facts about our current administration and corporate abuses by our supposedly liberal media. Once again, Moore has written a book that will make you laugh, disgust you with the truth, and hopefully motivate you to make a difference.

Summary: get over it
Review: Its funny how so many so called liberals are putting this book down? are you who you claim or part of the right wing smear tactic that BILL OREILEY sent out to attack this book? Yeah this book goes over the top some times-- hasnt anyone seen or heard Michael Moore before?? One fairly insightful reviewer made a commment about it being like being a mix of Noam Chomsky and Dave Barry with out the detail of Chomsky. Well DUH do you really want Moore to get that deep. His intire MO is to bring Humour to the subject. He neither claims to have the back ground or education of Chomsky.. and do you think anyone would read this if it wwere written like that..Michael Moore writes in a style that everyone can understand ( well maybe except BUSH II) and as for the reviews i have read where people say that Michael Moore doesnt back up his facts-- I really have to doubt if they read the book-- all facts are backed up with sources and most of them are congressional record or other reputable sources... which is more than i can say for tthe talking heads on the news!!!!!Finally for you people that say he is off for writing chapters like KILL WHITEY-- geez dont you see the point? he is making a statement with humour!!!! You think its stupid for him to suggest blacks having a blow up doll in the back?? funny one of my african american co workers thought that was a hoot-- cause he was tired of calling up for getting pulled over driving while black. Yes some of the points are made to sound silly- but wow made you think didnt they!!!! but the points and rants are not the same as the facts-- and those i know MM backs up totally-- if he didnt why hasnt he been sued for libeal!! Oh yeah maybe the know its the truth

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Burn this book.........if you are afraid of the truth
Review: This book stinks!!!!!
that is if you are one of the millions that would rather get your news thre soundbites and the obnoxious barking of hounds like Bill O'Reily!!! But if you want to know the truth about how this country really is and how King George annointed himself- read away!! I have been a fan of MM for a long time and he never fails to dissapoint. Read it and learn the truth.. The only downfall is your lunkheaded friends wont believe it cause the evening news didnt say so.. Well screw them think for your self and you will find that this country is in dire trouble and needs a kick in the butt or five!! Read and learn AMERICA and lets wake up together ...

Summary: Wake up America!
Review: Jobs are plentiful in the US. Heck, you or someone you know probably has at least two of them! Somebody must be getting rich off all this hard work, but it sure isn't you. You'd think all that hard work would entitle one to "luxuries" like basic health care and education in the "wealthiest" country on Earth.

Michael Moore declares war on what he calls the "Stupid White Men" responsible for these and other inexplicable situations in the country that consumes far more of the worlds resources than any other nation.

He pulls no punches, and lays out a plethora of disturbing facts for your (dis?) pleasure. The overall political message is that there is, essentially, no difference between the two political parties in the US. One party tells you they are going to restrict your rights, destroy the environment, let heath care and educational systems fall apart, and then rigs the election, while the other does nearly the same without telling you they are going to do it.

Any publication of this sort will likely have a degree of exaggeration to it, but no more than the "spin" associated with the opposing side of the issue. The difference here is that Michael Moore "spins" in plain English and calls it like he sees it with a degree of humor, depending on your perspective.

If you are a big Bush supporter, you will HATE this book. If you are a hardcore democrat, your feelings may be similar. If you are sick of the whole political process [and dismal health care, pathetic education systems, extravagant military spending or other issues] and need a kick in the pants to get up and do something about the current state of affairs (like vote!), this may be just the book for you!
