Summary: Stupid White Man
Review: Mr. Moore clearly shows he's WAY out of touch with the rest of the country. This book lacks all credibility from the get-go. Do not waste your money on this (or, for that matter, don't even waste your time reading it from the library).

Summary: The most stupid white man...
Review: ...is the one who wrote this book. In an interview with Lou Dobbs of CNN, Mr. Dobbs asked Mr. Moore about the inaccuracies of fact in his book. Moore shrugged off the quesiton, saying "You know, look, this is a book of political humor. So, I mean, I don't respond to that sort of stuff, you know." "Glaring inaccuracies?" Mr. Dobbs said. "No, I don't. Why should I? How can there be inaccuracy in comedy?"

Note that, "how can there be inaccuracy in comedy?" If there can be no inaccuracy in comedy then there can be no accuracy and this book is nothing more than the mindless, wishful drivel of a bitter and frustrated man (who never-the-less makes a ton of money off the system he deplores - proving, I guess, that there *are* a lot of stupid white men out there who are buying his book).

Do yourself a favor, ignore this piece of trash.

Summary: A Magnificent Satirical Book
Review: Before I begin this review I would like to include a quote that I think very much suits the reception this book has received -

"Books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its shame" Oscar Wilde

I don't care what anybody says about this book - for me it is the greatest and most enthralling book I have ever read. For left-wing minded people such as myself it was about time someone stood up to the ludicrously rich and exposed the scandalous truth of the Earth we live in. I am all for people making a profit (even huge profits), but we have to draw the line somewhere, and at the moment that line is completely unbalanced.
Michael Moore boldly writes his way through an array of facts that are both fascinating and alarming (i.e 'the three richest men in America have more wealth between them that the worlds sixty poorest countries combined')
As for the critisms this book has received - anybody who feels they can justify a statistic such as that is nothing short of a glutton.

Summary: He's the man!
Review: I can't tell you how much I love Michael Moore's work, from "Stupid White Men" to "Bowling for Columbine" to "Roger & Me" to his great speech at the Oscars. I always want to hear what he has to say next and what he says and the way he says it is so refreshing. This book has absoultely no dull moments, you will learn something new and at the same time you will laugh as well, well-worth your cash...

Summary: Sorry excuse for a literary work.
Review: I began in earnest to be open minded about this book. It quickly turned into a narrow minded, incoherent excuse for the ills of the world. I am only compelled to write this to attempt to keep someone from wasting their time. I would strongly suggest any writing from Dinest D'souza for a balanced view of this country.

Summary: This book is great!
Review: Michael Moore did a great job of showing some of the problems facing our country. The greed in industry is setting a bigger gap between the rich Executives and the poor workers getting exploited and used by these rich executives. Michael Moore is right that corporate corruption is killing this country and the middle class is being crushed by rich executives.

"Be Careful Who You SLAPP" is another book about corporate corruption in America that I think you will like to read too but it's a little harder to read than Michael Moore.

Summary: This guy's a fake
Review: You know, I think of myself as a logically minded person, and can be persuaded to accept someone's viewpoint *if* they present it with forceful and factual arguments. But Moore is a fraud whose goal is simply to push a political ideology, never mind the facts. Do a web-search (reviewers aren't allowed to post URLs) for the following articles exposing Moore's deceptions:

"BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE: Documentary or Fiction?"
By David T. Hardy

"Canadian officials protest 'Bowling for Columbine'"
(CBC News)

"Moore is less"
by Daniel Radosh

"Viewer beware"
by Ben Fritz

Summary: Had to put it down
Review: I started reading the book, but quite frankly couldn't continue once war broke out. After seeing Iraqis joyfully greeting their american liberators, suddenly nothing in the book made sense anymore. I know it's supposed to be humorus, but good humor is based in fact. I read a column by John Fund of the wall street journal that listed numerous factual errors on Moores part.

Sorry, I can't recommend it.

Summary: so bad, it's incredible
Review: it had appeared that moore's propaganda film "bowling for columbine" was going to be the undoubted champion of the world's poorest achievement in the arts of the last 100,000 years...but this book must be a co-champ. both are so factually inaccurate that it is a testament to the greatest country in the world that we would publish such trash. i would recommend for people to buy this book so that if you run out of toilet paper and don't want to run to the store, you will have a readily available source of wiping paper.

Summary: Thank Goodness for the likes of Moore...
Review: When I feel as if I am awash in a sea of blind partisan bickering, one where nothing ever gets accomplished and everyone shifts the blame, I pick up this book. It is both enfuriating and a relief to see that someone out there is challenging the nauseating status-quo, attacking BOTH Republicans and Democrats and showing that he embodies the true definition of Patriot--one who goes beyond putting a flag sticker on his car and instead learns about his country and challenges it in order to make it better.
