Rating: Summary: Kinda of Funny in sad sorta way. Review: I'm saddened, saddened that this twaddle passes for anything other than the forlorn ramblings of a pathologically rotund, self-hating gomeril. While sometimes diverting, one shudders to think that any person, who refrains from moving their lips while reading, could actually believe any of this regurgitated drivel. If you liked this you may want to pick up Moore's latest work, People Who Find Me Clever and Attractive. I understand it's written on part of a business card.
Rating: Summary: The Best book you'll read this year Review: Michael Moore's book, "Stupid White Men," is a must read for all who want to know why our country is going down the ..... From revealing evidence on how the 2000 election was rigged (black voters pulled off the polls in Florida, Supreme Court appointment of our Resident in Office) to incisive observations on the perpetuation of racism and sexism in our country, Moore gets to the heart of what keeps America from truly being the moral example to the world that it claims to be. Make sure you get the newest edition, with an extra chapter on why Bush and his cronies took lighters and matches off of the list of banned items on airplanes (seems they find pressure from their big tobacco buddies and financial backers to be more important than any potential terrorist threat). Read this book and then Take Your Country back!
Rating: Summary: America's New Liberal Icon Review: Ahhh, what a breath of fresh. It is so nice to read about the state of American politics from an unflinchingly liberal point of view. Michael Moore has become to the left what Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh are to the right. The difference being, of course, that Mr. Moore is correct. I especially enjoyed his explanations of how the election was stolen from Al Gore and what is wrong with the Democratic Party. The book is at times gutbustingly hilarious and at other times it will make you seethe with anger. All in all not a bad performance for a guy that dropped out of college because he, "couldn't find a parking spot".
Rating: Summary: File this one in the good ole' circular.. Review: Sure, I'm a conservative, but any well-educated citizen can appreciate bantering from the other side. "Bantering", though, Moore's book was not.. "juvenile", "factually inaccurate", and "downright annoying" would be more on-target.
Rating: Summary: MICHAEL MOORE IS FULL OF LIES!!! Review: Michael Moore found himself with nothing to do but knock on one of the greatest presidential regimes we have had in some time. ... ... ... Thank you and God BlBless America.
Rating: Summary: A Comedy of Errors Review: While reading the introduction to "Stupid White Men..." I thought the book was supposed to be a comedy. Then after beginning chapter one, I quickly discovered that these are his actual views. (And apparently shared by several readers) I encourage every American to read this book -don't buy it, don't support him, but check it out of a library- and to do their own research before believing any one source. Don't just take him for his word, do the research yourself. He makes some pretty harsh claims for Bush, including he ruined the economy (While ignoring the fact that the recession had begun a couple of months before Bush was elected.) So check it out, read it, just don't be like sheep, believing every thing told to you from every psyco-extreamist who writes a book. I give it 3 stars; because, I have to admit, it was entertaining.
Rating: Summary: The real deal Review: Irreverent, antagonistic, politically incorrect... Michael Moore is all of these. And, oh yeah, FUNNY! His pokes at the Bush White House are hysterical. And not because I'm a liberal (I'm not, no political affiliation), he simply shows the absurdities in the beliefs and actions of "those rich, old white guys". I almost hate to think what would have happened if Gore had won; we never would have had this book to make us laugh. Looking for other books to make you laugh? Try "No One's Even Bleeding" or "Delano". They're definitely "lighter", but also very funny.
Rating: Summary: An affront to all non-bigots. Review: Can you imagine a book called "Loud, Promiscuous Black Women and Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation"? The ability of these bigoted leftists to turn the state of things upside down and make others seem like the bigots never ceases to amaze me. I quote one Swiss Michael Moore admirer: "The people who don't get his humor can only be stuffed shirt bigoted neo-conservatives." They are the ones gushing praise for a book called STUPID WHITE MEN, a book that makes fun of the white airplane victims on 9-11, and WE'RE the ones who are bigots for having the temerity to take offense!! The intellectual (I use that word loosely) bullying here is typical and unashamedly in-your-face: if you don't agree with THEM, you're always a BIGOT and a NEO-CONSERVATIVE. (What do they mean by NEO- anyway?) So much for the open-mindedness and willingness to listen to others that is supposed to characterize the so-called "liberal." And what really galls me is the fact that these European Bolsheviks have the audacity to call America "arrogant." Well, just take a look at the reviews from Switzerland, Germany, et al., and you'll see where the real arrogant, smug, self-satisfied complacency really resides. The childish name-calling and strident put-downs simply reveal the immaturity and close-mindedness of so many leftists--particularly the European leftists--as do the intellectual emptiness and dishonesty of their group-think mantras and slogans.
Rating: Summary: overweight, short-sighted and paranoid... Review: Completely devoid of any objective perspective, the author is a hypocrite and deserves a spanking. Naughty boy! He has become a part of the very system he abhors.
Rating: Summary: Jackass Review: If you like opinions without facts then this book is for you. Just like in his documentaries, he presents little or no facts for any of the stupid rants in this book. Moore is just a stupid angry fat [man] that hates America, and since he is unable to stage events and edit in "facts" in this book like he does in his documentaries it is glaringly obvious how misinformed he really is. This book is a waste of paper, do not buy it.
