Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Bush's "axis of evil" can't account for this guy! Review: This book is a buzz/release for those of us who are already on-board Moore's ideals. But, there will be no new recruits. Because, it is not possible to teach your enemies anything whilst you're attacking them.Attacking needs to be reserved for direct hand-to-hand self-defence combat, when 'teaching' is not the point. When you're expressing a view, teaching 'is' the point. And, being confrontational means you've cut-off the very listners that you feel actually need your lesson.By alienating your enemies, you make them even 'more sure' that you are a danger to them. Therefore, they 'increase' the restrictions and oppressions on you.We are effective only when our anger at them fails to deter us from a stong and determined search for methods to 'teach' them what we know.People often don't listen, yes.But all that means, is that we havn't quite hit the mark 'this time'.Next time, you'll know to try a different angle of approach.Being right in itself, is only step 1.Communicating it with 'tact' and 'care' is step 2, in creating a successful society. So, Moore has 'step 1' successes, which his targets would do society well to learn. But, how to teach them? Sensitivity to 'emotional reasons why' people do horrible things, is required if we are to succeed. But if you're just after a bit of fun and humour (targeted against G.W Bush type people), and want to 'get things off your chest', Moore can serve you well here.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Okay so he's a bit angry, but... Review: This book is so important for everyone to read--if just to discover the "other" side, and unknown facts about biology, politics and major corporations. You don't have to *believe* everything but you can giggle along with it, and hopefully make your own judgements and observations and just OPEN YOUR MIND. I realized humans are more complex then we imagine...especially in America. Every fact Michael writes has been supported with research, so its not like its a silly fable of lies and flash. A fascinating read about a fascinating country. (But not a country I could live)
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Scary! Review: Many years ago, I enjoyed some of Moore's work. But this time, I'm sorry this guy got my money. I had no idea any human being could be so narrow-minded and so full of himself. But, at least I have a better idea of how this kind of people "think." If he can sway even a dozen voters, this country's gonna be a much worse place to raise a family than it already is.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Book - But missing one great anecdote Review: This book, and others by him, are really enjoyable. He often illustrates the point how easy it really for one person to make a change in this world, and how most of us are not the far-right and far-left figureheads who hijack our political discussions. If one thing is missed in this book, and his latest one, it's how his life of activism was started purely by accident. In high school, he spotted a flyer on the side of a vending machine about an Elks club sponsored contest. He then joined "A speech competition about Abraham Lincoln", and spoke of their written charter listing the exclusion of blacks from their membership. (The Elks didn't attend the judging, but heard it at the awards ceremony with many other high school students, who enjoyed his "prank".) The local news, then national picked it up, and Congress made laws concerning exclusionary organizations. The point: 1 person whose sole intention was to annoy the Elks Club, changed the system with no significant effort. 1 person! It's OK to disagree with him at times, but he is both genuine and entertaining.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Read this only if your IQ is below 12 Review: I research a lot of work regarding political positions for the Democratic Party in our area. This book is the work of an angry individual who basically ignores the facts and presents his arguments based on the most preposterous assumptions. It is sad to see the decline of intelligent discourse in the United States. This piece doesn't help our cause at all. As a life-long Democrat I'm really embarrassed at the lack of substance in this book. I think we are going to lose the election based on this apparent anger. Why can't we produce work that is worthy of the voter? I may go over to the Independents.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Entertaining, if sensationalist Review: I'm pretty left wing, so I found this book resonated pretty well with me. I appreciated, however, that he attacked his country as a patriot and not as an anti-American. All things considered, each chapter is written with a witty subtext. For example, he writes one chapter as a letter begging for foreign aid after the US Elections were corrupted, resembling the kind of thing you might hear from a banana republic. I found it incredibly witty, and educational. Some people might be put off by how he can sometimes go a little crazy, but I think that's just to be funny. This is an editorial at best, it is not a news report.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not sure what to think... Review: I was excited to read this book after all of the hype surrounding it. Unfortunately, it seems that the author spends a couple hundred pages ranting and raving but doesn't really give us any options to solve the problem. And he is very "mean" in his presentation. The information is good and helpful, it is just hard to "wade through" all of the outragous mud slinging.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: A dump truck load of smart drivel Review: Moore is nobody's fool but he's also far from unbiased. Anyone with a political bias can dig up dirt and put a slant on any subject. He broadcasts his preconceived liberalism about ten miles off. However, he doesn't write down to people and a lot of folks like that. A good political columnist could write a book in the same style and take a conservative slant and have a huge new audience. I must admit, Moore is one of the few political liberal authors who can draw a mass audience. Most of them put everyone to sleep with their defenseless drone.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Love it!!! Review: Great quick reading. Find out what the media isn't telling us, find out the truth in a comical genius sort of way. He is great! Thanks for doing the research for us!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: the naked truth Review: What can I say? just a wonderful exercise of auto-criticism and also a very accurated idea of what people outside from the US (especially EU) think about americans.
