Rating: Summary: Revealing & Insightful!! Review: A book that holds a mirror to the Conscience of America - Our health care mess, dangerous foreign policy, media propaganda, love with violence. It's high time the shallow flag waving jingoists did some introspection and questioned our government. In our fixation with being a 'superpower' we have built frienships with Taliban, Pakistan and Saddam (who was a one day honorary mayor of the Motor city). And our corporations control our minds. Thanks to Michael Moore for providing a comic relief.
Rating: Summary: State of the Nation Address Review: Very funny, flippant, refreshing, and enjoyable to a retired old educator like me. More truth is sometimes said in jest than in earnest. Though this book would more properly be titled "The State of The Nation by Michael Moore: The Way it Is" , and I enjoyed it immensely, I came away wishing he had said something about "The Way it Ought to Be", and, thought I should suggest to anyone who feels the same way I do to read Remick's, "West Point:.. Thomas Jefferson", an outstanding book that I obtained right here on www.Amazon.com.
Rating: Summary: Finally: The Truth about US imperialism! Review: The book drops the veil America has used for decades to disguise its real intentions: Imperialism of Roman proportions and the lust for world domination. More Europeans should read that book and abandon the sycophancy towards the bully of the world. Let's not forget: America just an overfed, bloated giant on clay feet that developed from barbarism towards degeneration, skipping the usual phase of culture. Europe, turn your back on America and go your own way!
Rating: Summary: Book speaks the truth Review: For all of the other reviews that appeared roughly after Michael Moore was seen on the oscars, don't forget: he has been around since the late 80's, and his book is STILL #1 for over a year on the NY and LA bestsellers lists. This book hits at the truth, and gives a voice for those of us who don't have the money to be placed upon the conservative-owned-media outlets.
Rating: Summary: Worst book ever Review: This book is full of venemous hatred and factual errors. In his blind rage over the constitution following Supreme Court, Moore reveals his utter ineptitude at forming rational thoughts. He proves that the liberal agenda is based on the statement if you can't beat them, verbally abuse and slander them. The only redeeming thing about this book is that he stands on the cover with the words stupid white men.
Rating: Summary: you cannot understand him... Review: I cannot understand the criticisms like these two, complaining about Mr. Moore speeches in the Oscar... aren't you able to see that your marines are fighting for oil and for the future of the weapons industry? Liberty and other traditional values are not related to this war. Do you think that the rest of the world are supporting you? Are you able to understand that even in the countries that are giving you formal support almost the whole population are against this war? This book is great and it shows everibody the illusions in which U.S. people live sometimes... people are being killed by your boys...
Rating: Summary: At least he got the title right Review: I can't help but wonder if Moore was thinking about himself when he was considering the title of this book. Here's a suggestion for anyone considering buying this book: save a tree instead. Mr. Moore's embarrassing rantings at the Academy Awards revealed he's full of bluster without substance, and has no intellectual grasp of the issues. I think it's appalling that some so-called celebrities take advantage of the public platforms like the Academy Awards and inappropriately use them to voice their pseudo-intellectualism on all things political. Give it a rest. And by the way, Mr. Moore...you're really bad at math. There were A LOT more people (than 5, as you proclaimed) booing you off the stage at the Awards, not to mention the countless thousands of TV viewers across America. Your time is up...and hopefully your career is over, too.
Rating: Summary: Predictably slanted - Democrats will love this Review: Interesting that Moore takes ... shots at Bush for evens that happened over 27 years ago, but is slanted towards a draft dodging, pot smoking skirt chasing past president who lied under oath and compromised the security of our great nation, but Moore says that Clinton didn't hurt anybody.Moore also ignores the fact that Clinton had a guaranteed shot at bin Laden but was unavailable. Had Clinton acted responsibly, 911 may never have happened. So much for the theory of Moore's that Clinton "never hurt anybody."This book is predictably slanted and horribly biased.

Rating: Summary: Moore is more patriotic than most. Review: ...Anyone who claims that Moore, whilst writing this book, is unpatriotic, has no love of this country and what it stands for. This book is a supreme testament to the fact that it is our DUTY to speak out when the government does things which are detrimental to everyone, and this is what Moore has certainly done. I applaud Moore for having the courage to speak out against ... morally wrong actions ... He is more patriotic than any of the nitwits who deride him for speaking his mind.
