Summary: Get the UK Version
Review: This book is awesome. Michael Moore tells it as it is. If you get the UK version published by Penguin Books, you will get a little bonus that the US publisher refused to print.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Worth saying.
Review: I very much emjoyed this book. No matter if some of the protestations are exagerated, it was funny and that is what I enjoyed the most about it. Unfortunately, even if it is correct in any of its outlandish claims e.g. vote rigging by Bush et al, the black vote quashed, 60% of deathrow inmates innocent etc etc then this presents a very sorry and sad state of affairs about the US to the world.

The worst aspect has got to be the reluctance of an American publisher to publish the book, even after September 11, truth is what matters not blame as is usually the case. In fact rather than admit the foreign policy of the US engendered its hatred within the Arab world this was neatly bandaged and avoided by concentrating on the perpetrators only rather than asking fundamental questions.

No doubt some of the statements listed are facts drawn from publicly available government lists such as the rather disturbing list of bills enacted by George Dubya in his brief time in office. Luckily Moore doesn't only harangue Bush but assaults the "other" party in similar fashion. A book that should be read by all concerned voters especially if even a small piece of it is accurate, woa betide if a large percentage of it is. Much is said that people actually think themselves but feel powerless to do anything about. A similar state of affairs reigns supreme in Australia, the utopia of pseudo-america created by our beloved Prime Minister. All of America's disadvantages with none of its advantages. Maybe the good aspect is that it can only go up from here.

Worth saying.

Summary: What is not to like?
Review: I just read this book and I have a question to ask: how would anyone not like it?

This doesn't mean everyone has to agree with the points he makes. No, not at all. But how could anyone say that a book that explains complicated things in an easy way and that makes points that will make you questionwhat you believe is not valuable?

I am not a flaming liberal like some people. But I still think this book should be required reading for schools and required discussion topics in schools. It makes you think. That's what we need more of.

Summary: An interesting polemic on the state of America
Review: There is a lot of logic i find very skewed int his book - especially parts about blacks and women. However, i will read these sections again and again, along with the others, to experience the insightful, thought-provoking writing Moore provides. There is so much in this book that provokes sharp intakes of breath - the stupidity and duplicity in 'the system' in the US today is really breathtaking.

This is a polemic, but Moore never pretends to be writing anything other than a book from his own point of view (and a well researched book at that). I wish everyone (especially every American) would read this book - even if they didn't agree with everything (or anything) Moore has to say, it might make them think. Definately had that effect on me.

Summary: couldn't put it down!
Review: Very amusing and entertaining book no matter what your political leanings are - he is critical of both Democrats and Republicans. He exaggerates sometimes for entertainment value but it's always clear when he's doing so. Otherwise the book is an easy read and very informative regarding the ACTIONS of many politicians and corporate CEO's and not just their words.

Moore also provides great USEFUL and SPECIFIC suggestions for little things each and every one of us can do to make this country and the world a much better place. This book is worth picking up.

Summary: "Stupid White Men" get what they deserve
Review: Michael Moore's summary of politics and world commentary should pave the way for millions of creative thinkers just like him to enlighten the nation. Not only was this book informative but it made me laugh. Moore points out the irony in every situation through the use of humor. He does an amazing job of presenting his position, and supporting it. Although his ideas may seem far-fetched, illogical, and just for comical purposes, I believe this book has a lot to say to the leaders of our country, and our world. This book should be read by anyone who is the least bit open minded about politics.

Summary: upsetting, funny, serious, informative-never boring!
Review: This is not one of those boring (yawn) history type books. This book will entertain with humor, seriousness, shock attacks all written with a strong purpose behind it-to reveal the truth. He takes pot shots of Republicans and Democrats alike. My favorite area was about Bush and the rigged election. There was a lot that the media here didn't publish, but an outsider discovered, that many of us never knew. The lack of truth and reporting by our media is scary. After reading about the people Bush has on his cabinet, you will, as an average citizen, be dismayed. Oil, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, etc. are the prime focus of these people. What chance are we going to have for fair prices unless Bush's ratings continue to drop because of his using the lives of our young men and women and our tax dollars to increase his and his friends pockets and he has to do a compromise to get back in the running. You notice he wanted the taxes to be lowered before we went to Iraq-he and his friends didn't want to have to do any sacrificing. The election was an eye-opening reveal on how crooked it was. Our votes did not count. We preach about having a democratic country and want other countries to do as we do and then we don't do as we preach? Anyway, this book is funny and full of interesting facts and, of course, a little (lot) of bias on the writer's part. Very enjoyable.

Summary: Stupid White Men...
Review: I love anyone who has the guts to stand up to foolhardy right-wingers. And Michael Moore is such a man. Believe it or not, there are some Republicans (fiscally conservative, morally liberal) who don't agree with the extremists in the party. Three cheers to Mr. Moore for calling B.S. on the far right crowd and doing it with wit and humor that prevails throughout.
Also recommended for humor - NO ONE'S EVEN BLEEDING

Summary: EXCELLENT!!!!!
Review: This book is very eye-opening. Every American should read it and see what is really going on with our country. As a woman, I could not agree more with the "men" section of the book, and as a white person, it made me understand the plight and suffering of African -Americans. Yes, AMerica is very difficult for women, gays, and minorities, and it needs to stop. We are fed up with the "stupid white men." Thank you Michal Moore for being a voice for the voiceless and the suffering.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I highly recommend this great book to any person. It is very funny and witty, and I could not put the book down. I loved every bit of it, from begining to end. It was also very informative and it had a lot of information that I was un-aware of before reading this book. Long Live Michael Moore!!
