Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Should be called Dude Where's My Country Part 1... Review: If you're new to Moore, you should start with Downsize This and then watch Roger and Me. This will be a good introduction to Michael and his political stance. Downsize this is actually a little funnier than Stupid White Men, so it's definitely not something to skip. Roger and Me is pretty much how Moore came to be and is a pretty amazing film too. Also, if you're planning on buying the new "Dude, where's my country" I'd suggest that you buy this first because Stupid White Men pretty much ends right after Bush is elected. This book is like the prequel to Dude Where's My Country and will go right along with it. So, if you have the time, here's what you do: rent Roger and Me, read Downsize This, rent The Big One (you may have to buy it), read Stupid White Men, rent Bowling for Columbine, and read Dude Where's my Country. After that, you'll be ready to kick ass in Mike's Militia!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Not as good as Downsize This, but still an entertaining read Review: Considering that many people consider Moore to be the "voice of liberal America," I'm actually a bit disappointed with Moore's second book. It's less funny, more preachy, and less motivating than Downsize This. Much of this book's content is swiped right from his 1999-2000 TV series, "TV Nation." Having said that, I am very glad Moore is on our side, and that people are reading his work as opposed to Fox's Coulter/O'Reilly clan. It's still an entertaining read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Still timely Review: Many conservatives feel that liberals are weak and don't like to fight. These conservatives have obviously never been to a Michael Moore reading or a Ralph Nader rally. Democrats of the last few years have been silent, even though they are a majority. In violation of the old proverb "let sleeping dogs lie", Bush II and his far right policies have aroused us and we have begun fighting back. Every chapter in this book attacks the policies of the last three presidents plus our current governor. To all you republicans reading this, his numero uno target happens to be Clinton. Imagine that, someone criticizing a member of his own political party. I think you republicans should try it once or twice. In the chapter "Democrats, DOA," Moore indicts the democratic party for its rightward drift. He even rattles off a list of offenses that sound like Bush II but are Clinton policies and directives. In "Idiot Nation," a chapter on the sad state of education and knowledge of foreign affairs in America, Moore takes on Bush's education policies and gives us a lesson in current heads of state around the globe. The best chapter though has to be "We're Number One." In it Moore challenges our perceptions about the world and he offers funny yet serious insightful commentary on international current affairs. It also contains a wonderful open letter to Arafat asking him to stop the violence and adopt the tactics of Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr. and act nonviolently. He says that if Arafat and the militants will do this and Israel still keeps bombing and repressing them then the world will see the truth and the Palestinians will win. But if they keep bombing Israeli Jews, then (due to the understanding that Israel fears, rightfully so, that they are targets for elimination once again) he will have to stand with Israel.

A fun read and a new look at America today. I dont think there is really another man quite like Michael Moore in the world. I read this book while I was on vacation in America and I must say that I got alot of dirty looks from Americans but I dont want you to think im Anti-American, I love America and the people :) I just think the american government sucks...really sucks. The only reason I didnt give this book 5 stars was because some of the information is hard to believe and I think we should have been given more evidence really but the majority of it is very good (although very worrying). Its also a humorous take on politics which is always good to see, in a society like todays, with our current political situation I think some humour is needed.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Hardcore LIberals might like it Review: If your a hardcore liberal and you absolutely hate George W. Bush, then go buy this book. If you like George Bush or don't like listening to a man rant, then definetly don't buy it. I found that Moore didn't say enough in his book. He hammers Bush and tells hime everything he's doing wrong, but he doesn't give his opinion on what he would do, or what should be done. At least some liberal writers do say that Moore doesn't. He bends some of his facts a little bit, and puts most of them to his own liking, like a typical political writer. Like I said earlier, unless your a hardcore liberal, Michael Moore fan, or Bush hater then go buy this book. If your anybody else, don't waste your time.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the best books regarding modern politics Review: It views our western society from another viewpoint rather than neoconservative rantings.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: topics that needed to be stated Review: Whether or not you agree with Moore's political viewpoints is irrelevant. The fact remains that this is a well-written, informed, and humorous piece of literature. Moore brings a new take to the issues which bombard us everyday, by providing new information in an often humorous format. This is an easily accessible read that will entertain you...you won't even realize that you are actually learning something in the process.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: You call this reality? Review: Being a moderate Republican (yes they do exist), I was challenged by a liberal Democrat friend to read this book. I could barely get through it without wanting to throw it in the trash. This is nothing more than a collection of over-the-top tripe. Michael Moore should be ashamed. What ever happened to presenting factual information? This is a perfect example of the type of misinformation perpetuated by the far liberal left where fiction and fact conveniently exchange places to substantiate one's argument. This book does a gross injustice to those liberal issues with merit. With this guy toting the liberal banner, it gives those with a real and substantiated message a bad name. If you are looking for a good laugh or something to get your blood boiling give this book a quick look. However, see if you can find it in someone else's garbage, as it is not worth a plug nickel.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Liberals might like it Review: I'm 19 years old and am fascinated by polotics. I consider myself to be conservative, but I look at the issues from both sides and look at the pros and cons of things. I just do not understand Michael Moore's book. If your liberal you might like it. Moore rips George Bush and that's basicly the book. Moore rips Bush for doing things, but really doesn't tell what he thinks should be done. I don't like polotical people who do that, and I find it adgervating. If your conservative you probaly won't want to waste your time with this book. All he does is rip George W. I didn't like the book. I went into it, with an open mind, and thought I might try to see if I could understand Michael Moore a little more. I can't and find the man to be obnoxious and ignorant. Don't waste your money on this book, unless you love Michael Moore.
