Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Honesty is finally okay again... Review: In a climate in which the president's press secretary advises us to 'watch what we say,' it's refreshing to have Michael Moore back again to share his opinions and perceptions of what's going on these days. Moore is an equal opportunity critic - as his support for Nader in the most recent election indicated, he's no big fan of either the Democrats or Republicans; he does not simply set up a Republicans-and-conservatives-are-bad dichotomy and leave it at that. He illustrates many of the problems with the current system, both parties and with Dubya, Clinton and Gore. At times Moore offers a perspective that goes beyond that typically found in mainstream media represntations of stories, which can someimtes be really fascinating. And while practically all of his observations are conveyed with his trademark humor, the entertainment value of the book should not undermine the validity of much of its content and ideas.Of course, it is quite clear that readers who have not typically enjoyed Moore's work in the past or who still find criticism of the Bush Administration unsavory will not find much in this book to like and should probably avoid it at all costs. But for those who do like Moore or who like intelligent, well-articulated, funny, relatively fair and thorough political commentary, this book's for you. Read, learn and laugh!

Review: Right wing cranks will hate it, because it tells the truth about the despots who've run this country like some banana republic, but folks interested in learning why their lives have gotten smaller and meaner while the rich have bigger parties will find here the answers.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Democracy works! Review: I've been waiting for years for Michael Moore to write a sequel to the wonderful, hilarious "Downsize This!" and I thought I was going to have to wait a long time after I heard last summer that Harper Collins had put the book "on hiatus." That the book was even published is a victory for democracy. That the book is creating small riots across the country is a huge victory for those of us who believe that "United We Stand" doesn't mean we all have to think alike. My copy arrived yesterday and I haven't been able to put it down. Once again, Michael Moore speaks out for the thinking American! (...)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Superb Review: Funny. Fair. Insightful. Michael Moore may be outraged, but with good reason. Intelligent readers will find much of value in here, even if they don't agree with the politics. The rabidly right wing faction will foam at the mouth, but that's nothing new. They foam at the mouth when Michael Moore wakes up in the morning, and continues to draw breath. And thank God he does. And I hope he continues to do so for many, many more years. Keep writing, Michael. Oh, and though I may be mistaken, I believe that the rank of #1, which Stupid White Men currently holds, has to do with sales figures, and is in no way affected by customer reviews. All that does is affect the number of stars displayed under Avg. Customer Reviews. Stupid White Men is Amazon's #1 because America WANTS to buy this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: funny, humanistic and insightful Review: I've followed Mike's career and writings since Roger and Me. I am overjoyed that he has not lost his ideals or scruples. It's always a good day when the hypocracies and downright criminal behaviors of the ruling class get lambasted. It is, however, always sad to realize that so many hard-working Americans buy into the neo-conservative, head-in-the sand routine. ...Michael Moore is a champion of the common man (and woman) and will continue to be ... Good going Mike!! You are a true hero, and a great American! We are overpopulated! We do support anti-democratic regimes! Our Ozone is disappearing! The Emporer has no clothes! Right on all counts, but it's still amazing that so many refuse to see that [naked] emporer! Love the ideas on women (everyone read Ashley Montague's work on gender and surviveability/superiority), the Holy Land and Whitey...and yes, baby Bush has to go. And remember everyone- this is a humorous work- insightful and biting, yes, but at the core, HUMOROUS!! Lighten up! It is entirely possible to love America and not the Bushes...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Thank God for Michael Moore! Review: Ahhhhhh! So refreshing. Yeah, its Michael Moore, so you probably already know what its about. What's most interesting about the book is that Moore is spouting extremely depressing stuff, but manages to keep you smiling the whole time. This book would prompt suicides if the facts were just presented as they are. Unfortunately, the only way to get the information down is to make it funny. Everyone in this book is evil.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Michael Moore outdoes himself again Review: I won't try and reproduce the excellent reviews I've read here. Let me just say that this book met or exceeded all of my expectations. I remain grateful to share a nation with someone like Michael Moore. He gives me hope. Keep it up, Michael!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Michael Moore in Top Form Review: Michael Moore is at the top of his game. Even though this book was written almost a year ago, his arguments are as sharp and incisive as ever. This book, even if you don't agree with Moore's strong political opininons, will have you laughing out loud. Perhaps the most important thing about this book is not what he says about the stupid white men (and there are plenty of them!), but how he uses their stories to bring up a viable discussion of how these things are influencing our lives. If you have never watched one of his award winning movies or TV shows, you might not get the joke at first. But, if you have an open mind you will be delighted by the time the introduction is over.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A desperately needed alternative that I wish was more funny Review: ....In all honesty, this is not Moore's best work. Maybe if he could have gone back and edited it post 9-11 he could have ironed the kinks out. I just didn't laugh that much while reading it. As someone who is usually more egalitarian than most of the feminists I meet, I also wasn't too keen on his lumping all men together. Not every guy is a slob who doesn't use deoderant and sits on his butt all weekend long watching sports on TV. With these complaints aside, there is one single great joy in reading this book: An alternative view to the baloney that has been stuffed down our throats since 9-11! There are solid reasons to oppose what's going on and even more solid reasons to oppose our appointed president with arguably the lowest IQ in the history of the United States. Moore's book is one way you can vent a little steam about the whole horrible mess that's being created in this world -- mostly by "stupid white men" such as Bush. As a US Army Intelligence Analyst now turned foreign policy lobbyist, I have to agree with another reviewer who stated that a lot of these issues are just downright depressing and Moore's words are, sadly, not amusing enough. Far too many Americans don't have a clue about what our government is doing (or has done in the past). I'm not sure if Moore could have struck a home run or not with better humor. How can we laugh when a poll of world influentials (including leaders from developed nations such as Britain, Germany, etc.) indicates that the majority of people on the planet think our government has gone coo coo for Coa-Coa Puffs. Moore's book is a step in the right direction in addressing this dire need to educate Americans about why they think that way. It's just not that funny in the delivery.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A MUST READ For ALL Americans Review: Michael Moore is one of the most important voices in America today. Whether you agree with him or not, he is uncensored and uncorporatized and unrelenting in his crusade for fairness, social justice and equality for all people. Chapters like "Nice Planet, Nobody Home," and "One Big Happy Prison" delve into issues that are NOT being addressed in general media today. His "Dear George," an open review of President Bush's agenda and accomplishments to date and "We're Number One!" will leave you reeling. I encourage everyone to purchase at least two copies of this book and share one with that someone you know who has bought into the current belief that President Bush is the best thing since Pop Tarts and Beef Jerky.
