Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Read it now and spread the word. Review: This book helped to lift the fog of hopelessness that has clouded my thinking for the past year or so. It reminded me that even though I've felt alienated and disheartened by the Bush administration, there are some enduring values here and it's possible for one guy/gal to make a difference. I know this is standard Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Ralph Nader rhetoric, but this book is different. Michael Moore has developed his own style that doesn't sound as confrontational anymore. It's very readable, unlike Noam Chomsky who's writing I find informative but very dense. It's enjoyable and funny, and yet more sophisticated, defensible, and thereby believable than his earlier work.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Off the Hook...... Review: you go Michael Moore, someone who can write for a lot of Americans of all stripes, classes and conditions.. Michael can tell it like it is and is not afraid of nobody. Like much of Michael's other works humor is the ticket, but when you laughing it sticks to the truth of all of the problems that are going on in this country, It is our country not the rich folk, we all worked to hard to let them take it away. Read this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: At last an honest American! Review: Michael accurately describes the condition of democracy in the U.S. and most of the western industrial world. The death of free-enterprise and its replacement by elitist corporatism has created this brave new world. This is the real axis of evil. Keep your stick on the ice Mike!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Emperor Has No Clothes Review: I appreciate that someone is asking the right questions. I appreciate that someone is pointing out the facts of many controversial issues that have been washed in logical fallacies to make them palatable to a nation of folks already challenged in critical thinking skills. And I appreciate someone throwing in a laugh or two while dealing with material that is literally deadly serious. While many ordinary people in this great land have kept their eyes wide shut as their government is undone around them, Michael Moore has managed to stare down enormity and get his dissection of it off the presses and out to the people. If you have actually read the book, you cannot mistake his non-partisan view on the outrageous behaviors of our generation of politicians. You cannot mistake his warm love of this nation and its citizens. And you cannot mistake the ring of truth.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The LIBERAL press finally tells it as it is. Review: Finally, the "Liberal" press gets a chance to tell the truth! In the words of Trent Lott, "You can support the troops without supporting the president." Mike tells all about this {P}resident. If your mind can be opened from the compassionless conservatives media, this book will open your eyes.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Stupid White Men - Yes & Yes Review: This book is candid, entertaining, raw, and yes biased (you tell me what isn't these days). I finished the book wanting more. Michael Moore is the voice of the silenced multitude. This book shines a light onto the mass of important information that is being hidden from us. The politics of this book will rub many the wrong way, but the facts contained are undisputable, alarming, and important for the survival of democracy. This book provides hope for our country's blessed freedom.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: INCREDIBLE read for anyone. Review: Want an incredibly inciteful, compassionate, and intelligent read? This book will make you laugh and it will make you think. Don't let your political views interfere. I didn't. Being quite conservative and pro-life, I read this more from a "know your enemy" point of view. I now have a MUCH clearer understanding of the coup that took place in Florida two years ago to give Bush the Whitehouse. Just read it. You will not regret it a bit. Be open-minded, it's becoming increasingly important to remember that as our world becomes increasingly violent and uncaring.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Stupid White Men Review: I have actually bought and read the book, and I can say without a doubt it is a great book! ... Keep up the good work Michael!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Excellent, especially with a grain of salt Review: It's unfortunate that people who don't agree with Michael have to slam him for the sake of hurting his ratings. I don't agree with much of what he has to say, especially in this book, but you must keep in mind that this is *entertainment*. He's very funny, in my opinion, but you have to realize that, just like any writer, his word is neither gospel or total lies. His opinions are rather skewed, but he brings quite a few scary facts to light in this book, regardless. Sit back, take a deep breath, enjoy the humor and listen to the message. I wouldn't want to live in a Michael Moore world, but we need men like him to do their best to keep the people on the opposite side of the fence honest (or at least as honest as possible). I think this book does just that.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A challenge to think critically about this book... Review: In the wake of Sept. 11, it has become socially dangerous to talk about the Bush administration in anything but a positive light. The fact that HarperCollins considered destroying 50,000 copies of this book by a best selling author, right after Sept. 11, is an outrage and insult to the very values of freedom and liberty for which our troops in Afghanistan are fighting, no matter what your political beliefs. I had become pretty complacent with the idea of Bush being president, since there isn't anything that I can do about it. I preordered this book, waited patiently for it, and I am again so angry! Reading it was like getting an adrenaline rush while riding a roller coaster. All of the passions that were evoked in me throughout the election debacle were reignited. Where is justice in this country? As infuriating as this book is, it's also very funny. Michael's style and sense of humor keep you on the edge of your seat. While it may sound like Michael is anti-republican, he's got plenty of well deserved grief to give Democrats as well. Read this book critically, and draw your own conclusions. If you don't feel comfortable buying it, then check it out at the library. But make sure you read it.
