Summary: A Pleasant Surprise!
Review: It has been a long time since I've read a book that has literally made me laugh out loud. This story just hit me in the right place at the right time ... it was a sheer pleasure to read. Becky can be pretty clueless, but I can relate to the moments of temporary insanity when it comes to shopping! This clever tale lightheartedly examines the correlation between looking good and feeling good ... as well as the journey to discovering true talent and purpose from within. (A little bit of faith, optimism and luck never hurts ... ) I will be recommending this book to everyone!

Summary: One you will not be able to put down!!!!!
Review: This is one of the most hysterical books I have read in the last few months!! The thoroughably likeable main character, Becky, soothes all of her problems and boredom with shopping. Soon enough, it becomes an addiction as she cannot get through one day without burning a hole in her wallet. Just her descriptions of clothing and other items are almost sensual.

I know all of us can relate to many of her thoughts and actions such as rationalizing unnecessary purchases and putting bills out of sight/out of mind. Her attempts to make money are even funnier. Even when she hits bottom, you still cheer her on! "Confessions.." is one purchase I recommend!

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This is Girl Power at it's best. I thoroughly enjoyed this and got through it in 2 or 3 days, it was un-put-downable! We've all been in similar situations to our fearless heroine and we've all just bought that little extra thing even though we know we shouldn't. Rebecca's letters from the banks/creditors are hysterical and she has said things we've all thought of saying to the bank manager when times are hard. And she's a financial analyst by trade, which makes it all the funnier. She should know better! But for Rebecca, an interesting lead on a big financial story puts her back on track and makes her think about her own situation. Even though we never see her finances back on an even keel, we are shown that there is a way out of it all at the end if you confront your fears. The characters are believable and well-rounded, and being the same age as Rebecca, I can identify with her very well. Sure, this book is light and fluffy, but if that's what you're looking for, then this is perfect.

Summary: As good as chocolate without the guilt
Review: Imagine having all the joy of shopping without ever having to spend a dime! Add to that great humor, a wonderful main character and a deeply satisfying ending and you have the perfect rainy day read.

Summary: Laugh-out-loud riot!
Review: I read this entire book last night -- I'm suffering for that today at work, but it was worth it! This book had me laughing out loud in many places, not only because I saw a lot of myself in Rebecca, but also because she is completely clueless. If you enjoyed Bridget Jones, Getting Over It, etc., you will LOVE this book! The only little complaint I have? I would have liked Ms. Kinsella to develop the romance a little bit more between Luke and Rebecca. He sounds like someone who could really get Rebecca to grow up, and I would have liked to have a little more coverage of their interaction. Otherwise, this book's a 10!

Summary: A great read for those of us in need of "retail therapy"
Review: If you love to shop, you will appreciate becky the narrator of this quirky, funny novel. She is in debt up to her ears but cannot stop shopping. It is terribly funny and a great read!

Summary: Pure Fun!
Review: Confessions of a Shopaholic was pure fun to read. I gave it five stars because it delivers what it intends- laugh out loud comedy. The neurotic and obsessive Becky is likable and yet to be pitied as she quickly buries herself in debt for the sake of high fashion and good times. I am embarrassed to say I could relate to her situation. Where the fun comes in this book are Becky's many attempts to make money and rationalize her impulses. Of course, this proves more difficult than she anticipates. Shopping addiction is not the only problem in Becky's life as she also struggles with her job and love life. Who can't relate? I love this book for its humor and fun. I had a huge smile on my face while I was reading it. Perfect for a weekend trip or a night at home- if you love British humor and want a funny, romantic, and light read then this is the book for you.

Summary: If you liked "Bridget Jones...."
Review: I loved this book. It really touches the heartstrings of any woman who really loves to shop. If you are a person who gets "a little something" every time you have a bad day, make this book your "little something".

This book was very lighthearted and the main character reminded me of Bridget Jones very much. She ran into major troubles throughout the book, but was able to overcome all obstacles through her bumbling perserverance.

Summary: If you Like Bridget Jones, you'll love Becky Bloomwood
Review: If you are a fan of the Bridget Jones Books, you'll love Confessions of a Shopaholic. Becky Bloomwood is an energetic, creative & crazy single girl who loves to shop. This book highlights one silly antic after another and even though Becky can sometimes be ridiculous, you can't help but love her. This is a very light-hearted, easy read. If you're looking for a fun easy read and you like "girl" stuff, this book is for you. I read it within 2 days and was sad when it was over.

Summary: Wonderfully Funny Book!
Review: Sophie Kinsella has it down to a science. I'm a shopoholic myself and I found myself agreeing with Becky's reasons for buying all the things she does. It tells a great story of a young twenty-something living in a big city and wanting it all. I flew through this book - it was easy to read, lighthearted and entertaining. If you love to shop , you'll get a kick out of this book!!
