Summary: Fast and Frothy
Review: This is a fast and fun read, but 5 stars?? Uh... no! and believe me I'm a gal that can appreciate a great pair of shoes as much as the next. This is the type of book you can finish in a couple hours while your lolling around. It's amusing and predicatable, not quite as funny as Bridget though. I actually began to think Rebecca's "holism" was bordering on the pathological, she really seemed to require some professional help! How convenient that the girl who's in debt up to her eyeballs, has not one but two of the richest men in England vying for her affections! Don't take this one too seriously and you likely will enjoy.

Summary: SOOOOO HILARIOUS!!!!
Review: What can I possibly say about this book without sounding completely insane? This book was incredibly funny, witty, and I fell completely in love with it! The British humor Sophie Kinsella provided in this book is so much fun, as are the bank letters. If you have ever felt the sensations and pleasure of shopping, this book is for you!

Summary: I'll wait for the sale.....
Review: My friend reccomended this book to me, saying that if I liked "Bridget Jones' Diary", I'd love this. She was sorely mistaken. While this book also takes place in London, that's where the similarities end. Becky Bloomwood is a whiney, unsympathetic charecter who I have absolutly no pity for. Two thirds of the book is discriptions of what shes bought and how they're such an "investment". Her methods of making more money are pathetic, desperate and unrealtistic. And why does she get the guy? Not only do they supposedly hate each other, the author makes it perfectly clear that Luke still thinks Becky's something special, making the ending no suprise whatsoever. Maybe some people like reading about spoiled brats. I don't.

Summary: Very good
Review: I really liked this book, I'm not a bridget jone's fan and couldn't get through reading a bridget jones book, so I was surprised when I found myself liking "Confessions of a Shopaholic", not only is it good but its fun! Its light reading and its not annoying like bridget jones.

I like that its original and that the author doesn't try to copy anyone like the bridget jones author did. Sophie Kinsella definitely knows how to write a good book and keep your attention. Its basically about a girl that loves to shop, and shop she does! She shops when she can't afford to shop, she's even a financial journalist for Successful Saving.

I really liked the character, she was so funny and nice. Not only that but she has the opportunity to take advantage of someone in order to pay her credit bills but in the end she does the right thing. Thank goodness.

I only object to some profanity that's in the book, and the fact that the book makes fun of people that abstinate from sex. Also this book teaches that debt never gets anyone anywhere.

Summary: Lots of Fun
Review: If you adore shopping, you'll like this book. I especially enjoyed the romantic aspect of it. However, all the letters from the bank telling her she owes so much money, and in reaction to these letters, her endless shopping, gets a little annoying. She often acts very immature and it can be irritating. However, it has a great ending and I enjoyed it very much. But don't expect to gain too much from it, as you might from, say, Jemima J, by Jane Green<-best EVER!!

Summary: Sweet
Review: This sweet and totally adorable story follows the woman we all fear we shall become - the Shopaholic. She purchases not just a few things on a whim - but EVERYTHING! So well written is the book, though, that the reader can really relate. The main character is looking for a better job, a new man (well, a rich man anyway), trying to balance her huge overdraft...and all the while it's hilarious.

Summary: Shopping at it's best!
Review: I really loved "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella. I thought it was a sweet and charming tale of "overdrafts" and "clearance sales." Rebecca Bloomwood could be any 20-something with an obsession for shopping. She is your average girl with average problems, like rent - men - and an obsession with shoes. While this isn't a tough read, it's fun and flirty. I liked to slow romance between Rebecca and Ben... and was more than happy to follow them along their road. I stayed up pretty late reading this one and was more than happy to do it.

Summary: light and fluffy
Review: "Confessions" is a light and fun but rather predictable read, which ,btw should not suprise you too much as it is very formulaic in it's presentation. However, the one principal thing that Kinsella does is to manage to give the characters distintinct voices and personality, unlike a lot of fluffy books where the characters are more apt to being generalized and stereotyped (even though they work the same formula).

While the characters here are not exactly unique and original, they are not overtly boring at the same time. It's a great no-brainer read that is hilarious at some points and merely funny in others. The only strong point, in my humble opinion, is that Kinsella is a strong writer and she can put together a plot or five together and crate a quirky world that I can relate to being female and holder of many credit cards.

Bottom line: Recommended for a 'light' read and worth the effort. worth purchasing as a used book or borrowed from the library.

Summary: awesome!
Review: Sophie Kinsella is a magnificent writer with an awesome sense of humor. I absolutely look foward to reading everything she writes in the future.
