Summary: A Review from a Shopaholic!
Review: This is my favorite book. It's truely amazing, espicially if you love to shop! Becky Bloomwood is a 25-year-old single gal living in London with her perky flatmate, Suze. She works for a finance magazine, though she usually is totally bored with her job because she doesnt understand much of it. She's usually fantasizing about shopping or buying a desiner dress!(Totally like me) So the story is about how she's in debt, her meeting a guy, and her getting a fab new job! The author really lets you know exactly how Becky feels, and makes her an awesome character! Read it! I know you'll love it, babe! If you want to chat about the book, feel free to email me ...~!

Summary: Eh
Review: As I got further along in this book, I started to hate Rebecca Bloomwood. What a self-absorbed, manic martyr. While I understand not handling finances well, it just seems as if she blames the world for her problems. And the plot twists were so obvious. And her sudden maturity at the end of the novel was so forced. As a final nail in the coffin, I felt it was such a ripoff of the Bridget Jones-esque style. HOWEVER, it was a light read, fluffy and sometimes enjoyable.

Summary: Don't shop, read!!!
Review: This book is amazing. It gives you some disconfort on the shop-addition thing. But is a fun and broad mind book to read. It takes you on a journey throught the amzing mind of a girl with a very low self esteem but a big imagination. And in the end she takes the prince!!

Summary: better than I expected; although ending was not quite ...
Review: I would say the story was 90% well-written. It becomes a real page-turner during the last 100 pages or so. However, just as it becomes a real page-turner, Kinsella also neglects to maintain a good flow in storytelling. Many of the heroine Rebecca Bloomwood's issues and headache sources suddenly disappear or are never addressed. I do, however, look forward to the sequel. Overall, it was a good entertaining light read.

Summary: A must read!!!
Review: If you are a single woman who whenever has a bad day goes shopping in order to feel better, YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK. It was recommended by a friend and I finished it in two days. I am actually now passing it to my roommate, who is the Suze in my apartment.
You will love it!!!!!!

Summary: A Great Book!
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down! Being a shopaholic myself, I could thoroughly relate. This describes about the life of a woman who lives in London and can barely afford what all she's buying. I definitely recommend this book to all the 'shopaholics' out there!

Summary: Charming...but also one more Brit Singleton story.
Review: This novel follows the Brit singleton formula that has developed from Helen Fielding's "Bridget Jones' Diary". It's the closest novel I've read to the two Bridget Jones' novels.
It makes for a great beach read and pageturner. You know that the tribulations of Becca Bloomwood will turn around-- and they do very quickly. High marks for making Luke Brandon an appealing and mysterious character.
My main problems with 'Confessions' are its predictable and unrealistic plot. But this is a charming story with a tight plot; I couldn't put it down. If you want to laugh uproarously about someone else's shopping sprees and credit card woes this is the story. I look forward to reading more novels by Sophie Kinsella.

Summary: The poor girl's Bridget Jones' Diary?
Review: Yeah, maybe, but so what? This book is a treat. The protag does have a serious shopping problem but Kinsella makes it seem like fun. I must say I recognized myself more than once in this book- I would only recommended it to those who get a major thrill from sales on cute clothes and strappy sandals. Tired of hearing about how the world is going to hell in a handbasket? Bill collectors calling you day and night about your Marshall Field's account? Join Rebecca on a shopping spree and forget about you troubles for a while.

Summary: very cute, a fun read...
Review: A friend loaned this to me and at first I was skeptical because I'm not much of a shopper myself. No matter. Becky is one of the most endearing book characters I've ever come across. Kinsella has written her in such a way that you don't have to share her obsession to connect with her. She could charm even the stiffest of bean counters with her desparate attempts to live the high life she can't really afford.

It took me a bit to adjust to the occasional use of British slang and to realize that a quid and a pound note are the same thing, but the closer I got to the end, the harder it is to put this book down. It really drew me in and I was sorry to see it end.

I can hardly say that this a classic tale that will last the test of time, but then every book doesn't have to be. This is a fun, lighthearted book, that reads easy and rarely fails to make you laugh with (or in some cases at) the main character. I'm looking forward to reading the follow-up.
