Summary: Excellent humor
Review: This book is amazingly hilarious. I generally hesitate to buy pink covered books, thinking they target female readers. This book reflects a few months in Rebecca's daily life, she is addicted to buy things even she exceeds the budget. She has many original ways to escape from debts. You will find you have many in common with Rebecca. I couldn't stop my laughters while reading the book in the middle of the night.

Summary: Absolutely dreadful
Review: This book is awful - truly awful. I stopped at page 72, so there is a possibility that it improves - but I doubt it. It is poorly written and dreadfully uncompelling. The plot is thinly woven and the characters are flat and unlikable. I have heard many people describe this as a "fun book" and if you find second rate fluff "fun", then this may just be the book for you. The problem that I have with this book isn't that the subject matter is uninteresting, but that the author has a modicum of writing talent at best. I don't like to be harsh about the abilities of others, but I feel it is fair to say that in the hands of a more skilled author this could have been a charming story. Unfortunately, this book is not much better than what you would expect to find in your average twelve year old's diary.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: This book reminded me of my college days. Very funny, well written and a fast read! Truly enjoyed and passing it along to all my shopping buddies!

Summary: Best book! Great read!
Review: Love this book!! Read the book in two days! Really funny, without being predictable. Be sure and check out the other books in the Shopaholic series! Once you read this one, you'll be hooked!

Summary: "Hilarious!"
Review: I would highly recommend this amazing book for a young woman who is a compulsive shopper, and who does it to make herself feel better. I completely understood Rebecca; her feelings, thoughts, emotions, actions because I saw myself in her. I loved every single page of this book, it was a lot fun reading it, and I could not stop when I started. This book is definetely reflection of my reality. I felt better after reading it, and if you are one of those young girls in early 20s struggling to make yourself feel better by shopping I'm sure reading this book would bring as much joy to you as it did to me. Best!

Summary: Struggled to finish the book
Review: The first two thirds of the book is almost unbearable - it shouldn't take that long to describe a person who lives such lies and absurdity. Annoying!!!! Some nice twists at the end, though.

Summary: What an endearing heroine!
Review: I must admit, with no planning at all, I read the three books in the SHOPAHOLIC series in the reverse order from which these had been written. This reversal may be my good luck.

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC is cute, but it in no way forecasts how clever the later two books would be. If I only had read this first book, I might not have continued the series, and that would have been my loss.

As author Sophie Kinsella became more comfortable with her heroine, the stories became more complicated, more imaginative, and far more hilarious.

Still, the character of Becky Bloomwood is fully formed in this first novel, and she must be one of the most endearing heroines in recent history. If excessive shopping actually is an obsessive compulsive disorder, then poor Becky is afflicted.

Meanwhile, readers share Becky's world view--and her commensensical nonsense is a sheer delight. Logic that seems skewed at first begins to appear more grounded than conventional thinking. Becky is the contemporary English equivalent of the characters that the late Gracie Allen and Lucille Ball made so beloved on American television.

Read CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC. Read the entire series. These are charming books that will make you laugh, and this series will create fond memories that remain long after the novels have been returned to the shelf.

Summary: Brilliant!
Review: I was a bit leery of this book since I'm not much of a shopper, but rave reviews convinced me to buy it. I was completely engrossed - even on my honeymoon to Tahiti! Sophie Kinsella has an amazing knack for character development, and while reading the book, I felt like *I* was deeply in debt and getting myself into all kinds of predicaments. The book caused me to laugh out loud. It was a purely fun read and is one of those books you just can't put down. As soon as I'd finished it, I ordered the other two books in the series, and I still haven't been satisfied. A great read!

Summary: I feel like it's a book about MY life!!!!
Review: "Confessions of" was excellent...it deserves 6 stars! Rebecca gets herself into a money rut and runs. She sounds so much like me, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Things start looking up near the end...I also recommend "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan!"

Summary: Funny, I couldn't stop laughing
Review: This book kept me turning the pages until late into the night. I found myself laughing out loud! The main character was funny and very likable. I would recommend any of Sophie Kinsella's books to readers who want a quick fun read!
