Summary: Funny book, but sort of lost steam for me after a while
Review: I enjoyed this book. The main character is engaging, if a bit ridiculous and the situations are hysterical, but repetitive. Mostly they center on shopping and debt problems, with little of the personal interaction and none of the engaging secondary that make other books in the same genre more compelling. About halfway through I had read enough shopping anecdotes and attempts to evade creditors. My interest began to wane and I actually had to force myself through to the rather predictable and forced ending. Her friends, and even the boyfriend she ends up with in the end are complete enigmas of which little is known. Bottom line is I think there are better. I don't regret reading it, but can't see myself buying one of the sequels.

Summary: Every female can relate to Becky! Awesome book
Review: This book is very awesome. I saw its curious & cute cover in the bookstore and picked it up during a travel. I couldn't put it down and had read it three times in two weeks. I just love Becky Bloomwood!!!! With every situation, with every event, with every shopping thought, I saw myself, and it is a hilarious book to realities of shopping and the female mind! Not that we are all superficial and only think of shopping, but this does explore that humorous side that is so important in all us females. Every female can relate to Becky. I recommended it to a friend and she saw herself in Becky within the first two pages! It's so modern and in today's times, I can just picture this book becoming a movie someday - a chick flick I would definitely see! Seeing Becky Bloomwood throughout the series is great. Her character develops more and more with each series. Although there are some points int he character that becomes annoying, I'm sure we all find some of our own flawes annoying enough. I cannot put the book down, even though I've read it more than a few times!

Summary: A great beach read
Review: What a fun, page-turner. I found myself cheering for Rebecca and all of her shopping adventures. I've always been easily convinced with "Buy 1, Get 1 free" sales and can talk myself into "needing" to purchase something. Rebecca has some credit issues, but is not helpless. Of course her adventures at work and with dating are also part of the fun. She is smart and strong and most of all entertaining!

Summary: Laughs, romance, and shopping!
Review: This book starts off with Becky Bloomwood, a finanical journalist, living in her present-day London flat. Becky, among many other women, loves to shop! What ever she sees and wants, she gets. Only when she receives bills upon bills from her bank and credit card company of her over due, outstanding payments does she realize that something needs to be done. While juggling her money problems, her friend and flat roommate, Suze, helps her through it. Like most books Becky finds romance. She soon learns that the key for being successful in life is to be honest with herself and the others around her. I think anyone who enjoys a good laugh, shopping, and romance will like this book. The author, Sophie Kinsella does a good job with this book.

Summary: Forget Bridget Jones
Review: I was reading this book at my hairdressers and started laughing so hard that Perrier came out of my nose. To anyone who has ever put off paying a bill to buy a new pair of shoes, this is a must. It gives you a fun idea of London life and the main character is so loveable and out of control that you will miss her when you finish reading. There is an scene that pokes fun at British morning television that should not be read in public unless you want to embarass yourself.
The girl in the story is not some hopeless damsel in distress waiting for a man to rescue her. She actually tries to better herself even if the results are sometime disasterous. I love this writer and the follow up book is just a good. You'll love it.

Summary: An all around heartwarming book.
Review: I picked this book up while searching for a little something to read because its bright colors caught my eye. Boy, am I glad I did. From page one until the very end, I found myself routing for Becky to pull through. Through the times when it's inevitable that she is going to completely embarass herself, I found my eyes squinched and face blushing, as though I was there suffering the same embarrassments. With it being around 310 pages, you may find yourself thinking "well i just don't have time for this," but trust me, you do! I picked it up last night, started reading it, and after finally being able to unglue it from my hands to go to sleep, I realized that I had read over half of it, and I definately didn't want it to end. I then completed it this morning after a dreaded standardized test, and it definately brightened my day. All in all, I would say that it took me about 5 hours total to read. If you want a book that'll keep you going, laughing, flushing with embarrassment, and feeling as if you are there with the character, than this is the book for you. I DEFINATELY RECOMMEND!

Summary: I am a shopaholic!!
Review: From the moment I picked this book up I could not put it down! It was me! I was reading about me! Of course when I got deeper in I knew Becky had it WAY worse than I do! But I reason every "bargain" and shop as a pick-me up. I just felt myself relating to every word and just couldn't wait to find out what happened. And I couldn't wait to read the next book to follow Beckys trials once again. Fabulous book. Could never say enough! If you've ever gotten knots in your stomach over receiving your credit card bills you've gotta read this. haha!
