Summary: Good, but not great
Review: I borrowed this book from a friend, and was pretty glad I didn't buy it myself. No, it's not a bad book, but, it's not great. The main character - Rebecca - is amazingly self-centered and concieted. Basically, in "Confessions of a Shopaholic" Rebecca Bloomwood has a problem. She shops all the time, and charges everything, but can't pay the bills, with the cruddy job she has. When Becky tries to quit, things get even worse ~ she can't stop buying things. Finally, the bank keeps calling, and she moves in with her parents. This book is funny, but the only reason it got 4 stars is because Becky's too self-centered. I really liked it, but some of the British lingo was confusing (Ex: in London, "pissed" means drunk). This is overall a good - and funny - book.

Summary: An Autobiography For The Dedicated Shoppers
Review: This is the story of Becky Bloomwood a herione for all addicted shoppers. I first picked up this book based on it's title "shopaholic" something I have confessed to be on many occasions. As I read through this book I said to myself this is my biography. This is a hillarious romp through the retail stores, visa statements, and job boredom of all our lives. I recommend this book highly for those of us who want a great laugh out loud book as well as one that makes us take the time to ponder our own lives (although just for a momement before we move on to the next hillarious adventure). This is a wonderful book for for a fun light read. A great beach read.

Review: By the time I got to the Chapter where Becky honestly thought she was going to win the lottery and have it solve all her financial problems, I began to wonder what level of intelligence the audience who made this book a best-seller had? Then I began to wonder what kind of intelligence I had to borrow it from a friend and begin to read it. That situation wasn't funny. It was downright annoying. So much so that even though I assumed this book was supposed to be a fun and carefree read, I was getting more and more ansty as I read on. Half way through, I slammed it shut with disgust.The character of Becky is annoying, pety, frivolous, irritating and takes the word stupid and naive to a whole new level. I can't believe that women in the world can relate to her. If that's the case, I don't hold out much hope for our gender's future. If you want smart sarcastic chick-lit humour with women who have a brain, go read a Karen Templeton or Sarah Mlynowski book. Save your money on this one...

Summary: Quick Read, Somewhat Funny, Pretty Unbelievable
Review: If you want a quick "beach" read to keep you busy, this book has a bit of humor and entertainment for just that. But the character is just way too annoying, stupid, and ignorant for me to get that attached (even though I, myself, am a total shopaholic). I definitely recommend "Good in Bed" by Weiner instead if you want something quick, funny and with some real value. I won't be reading the other two in the trilogy.

Summary: A must buy
Review: I am a college student and I absolutley loved this book. I could not put it down, even when I had homework to do. Whether or not you love to shop, this is a great book. The two that follow this get even better and better. You will love all three of them and I promise you will be recomending them to all your friends. I recomended it to my mother who continues to recomend it to her friends everyday. Go out and buy it right now, at least thats what Becky Bloomwood (main character) would say!

Summary: Words can't describe how GREAT this book is!
Review: Wow. I read this book in one day - it was that fabulous! As this book has received many reviews so far, I won't review the plot here - but I will say that if you are into brit chic lit, this book will not disappoint. I laughed out loud when I read this book. I love when that happens. I can't wait to read the next two installments - and I hope there are even more in the future!

Summary: Fun even id you are not a shopper
Review: Confessions Of A Shopoholic is a very funny book. It starts out with "OK...DON"T PANIC it's only a Visa bill I know exactly how much I spent this month aroud 300 pounds or 400 acctually come to think of it that posh rug was 250." The book goes on like that, it is vry fun any funny how this girl who is ironicly a financial jurnalist gets out of her debt situations and manages to look professional. The first book is probably the best in my opinion, there is also "Shopoholic Takes MAnhatten" where she moves to New York with her boyfriend and "Shopoholic Ties the knot" which I am reading right now ( not literaly of course) where she gets married and plans this huge expensive wedding. Even if you don't live in England with english money(Pounds) or know any of those English desinger shops, you will still get it and soon you will be saying "Hey can you lend me 20 quid?" (slang for pounds like bucks is for dollars) The book also isn't all about shopping the girl also has a personal life ans A best friend who she shares an appartment or flat with. It is also hilarious how she does absolutly no work but still manages to try to look professional and say financial things that make sense when really she knows just as much about finance as you and me.. unless you are a financial journalist and well then...you've screwed up my point. the main character, Becky is very hilarious and careless and clumsy (like me) and she is really fun to read about. Every girl should read this, not guys really...

Summary: Best Book I've Read in Years!
Review: This book was so good, I started reading the first one, two hours after I bought it, and didn't put it down until the next morning. It was so funny, and the ending was a perfect spin to what one would think would end in a little bit more trouble.
Becky Bloomwood is such a funny character, at some points in time, I would shout out "Becky, I can't believe you just did that!" or "Oh, no, not again!"
Basically, Becky Bloomwood is one of the most interesting characters in any of the books I have read, and believe me I've read my fair share. Rebecca is pretty much a shopaholic, in denial, funny, and interesting woman. That's all I really want to write, but I'll leave you with this: If you want some laughs, read "CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC".
