Review: This is an awesome summer/anytime read. The book def. flows quickly and there is no shortage of laughs. Once you read the first you will be hooked and have to buy 2 and 3 which are equally hilarious.

Review: Meet Becky and her shopping problem. She has a job working for a financial magazine that she doesn't enjoy and it doesn't even come close to paying off her shopping expenses. Yes, she is a little too materialistic, but everyone has times where they just HAVE TO HAVE those new pair of shoes (or whatever you like). Becky just likes everything that's sold... She's insanely in debt, but finally is able to land herself a gig as a financial advisor to a talkshow. You'll never guess who she tells off to get it either! It took a little while to get into this book, but all the letters you get to read from different debt collectors are a riot! Stick with the book and you're going to love it!

Review: CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC by Sophie Kinsella Now, THIS was entertaining reading! Sophie Kinsella introduces the character of Rebecca Bloomswood in the first of a series of wonderfully funny books about a Shopaholic, in this case Rebecca. Rebecca is totally hopeless. She's living totally beyond her means, doing all she can to work as little as possible to make time for those shopping sprees, and finds herself deeper and deeper in debt. It sounds pathetic, but seeing it all through her eyes makes the whole situation funny. Rebecca doesn't seem to have a clue how bad off she really is, and she lives her life enjoying what she does best: shopping. It's an ironic twist that she's employed as a financial journalist by the magazine Successful Saving. She fakes her way through her assignments, and somehow ends up doing press conferences for her boss, along with other financial journalists and experts, and still manages to spend hundreds of pounds a day on frivolous things such as a pen to help keep track of her expenses. And she seems to have impeccable taste. Only designer clothes for her! It is no wonder her boss possibly thinks she's come into an inheritance, as there is no way she could live the she does on the salary she makes! CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC is a very light read, but I found it was done so well that I highly recommend it. I would like to compare this book to the Bridget Jones Diary series, as the main character in SHOPAHOLIC is as compulsive as Bridget was. As I too was once a shopaholic, (I should say I am a recovering shopaholic), I was able to relate to nearly every purchase Rebecca made using all of her cherished credit cards. Making excuses and justifying purchases, I felt it was funny, but yet scary at the same time, as I watched her dig herself deeper into debt. And Rebecca is a character you really learn to love. She can drive you nuts, but she does find redemption by the end of the book. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

Review: I loved this book!!!! Sophie Kinsella really did a great job of portraying the shopping obsession of Rebecca ("Becky") Bloomwood, an editor of a magazine. Becky is trying to stay out of the red, but her sinking credit is proving to be a threat to her sanity. Her life seems to revolve around the revolving doors of stores of all kinds - everything from big department stores to minor boutiques to...what was the name of that place where she bought that cute scarf on sale? This book was a good laugh, and I have to admit that in some ways I could relate to Becky. She is just a little more air-headed and irresponsible, but other than that, I think most young women can identify with Becky Bloomwood -- her managing and juggling her career and insane passion for clothing, shopping.... and her interest in men, her best friend with best intentions...and most of all, how she succeeds in using what she knows best as best she can!

Review: This book isn't going to change your outlook on life or anything, but it's a very entertaining read. Although I'm not this bad, I heard some of my over-spending problems echoed in hers! The heroine is also very endearing.

Summary: So Much Fun for Shopaholics Everywhere!
Review: This is the tale of a sweet, naive and imaginative (pathologically so) shopaholic who has a very creative job at a very fabulous financial newsletter. Haha, in her dreams it's fabulous and creative. Becky Bloomwood is one of the most refreshing characters I have come across in a long, long time. I read this book in one sitting. I was so in love w/her character and all her friends and acquaintances and crazy circumstances that she got herself in. I just could not put the book down until I finished it. To me, reading this book gave me the best feeling. Becky Bloomwood is so sincere and earnest there is just no way you will not like her. This book will just put you in the best mood because it is laugh out loud funny, the heroine is a moral, upright person (except for the totally ridiculous fibs she comes up with-but all for a good cause) that any girl who LOVES to shop and then might have overwhelming credit card bills can relate to on so many different levels, and her love life will have you grasping your sides in pain and then your heart, which many girls might be able to relate with also. (how's that for a run-on sentence!) So if you want to read a book that makes you happy, go out and buy this book right now! You won't regret it! Thank you so much, Sophie Kinsella, for creating a character that I think I love more than Bridget Jones!

Summary: [Poor} excuses to avoid the bank manager but hilarious!
Review: This book revolves around Rebecca Bloomwood who is a self-confessed shopaholic and despite being a financial journalist, she has no clue on how to curb her enormous spending. A large portion, primarily the first half shows her suffering through the constant instances of avoiding the bank managers and having a crisis in the romance department. Particularly funny are the letters from the bank which show off her extremely lame excuses. LOL. Soon things take a turn for the better as she writes a sensational article in the Daily World. She soon features in television shows and make big bucks. She also manages a good catch, Luke Bandon. It ends happily for her. LOL.

Review: This book will really tickle you. Becky Bloomwood is a hilarious character who is obsessed with shopping. As her bills pile higher and higher, she gets into more and more trouble. These books are just so funny! The thing you have to understand if you want to like this book is that she has a problem and she isnt really shallow...just kinda bubbleheaded.

Review: Sophie Kinsella definitely knows how to describe a shopaholic. The novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic" is an emphatic read for any woman who possesses the obsession of spending money like the main character, Becky Bloomwood. This novel had a comic background to it by depicting all the ways Becky Bloomwood strives to get out of debt. Despite all her efforts, she just pulls her self in deeper and deeper into the black hole of debt and soon realizes that she won't be able to escape. Becky's endeavors are very capricious to the reader and will have them snicker with disbelief. Sophie Kinsella places Bloomwood in all realistic places in England such as the "tube" and her flat in Fulham so the reader has localities to relate to as well as imagine. Kinsella has also done a superb job in giving characteristics to Bloomwood. For instance, even though Becky is a financial journalist, she is in major debt from her spending money on "necessities" at elite stores such as Denny and George and Harrods. To put it simply, "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella is a notable read for anyone who cherishes the world of shopping.
