Rating: Summary: You just can't put it down! Review: This is a very exciting book. I truly loved it. It grabbed me from the beginning and I just couldn't put it down. This book gives it all a little comedy, suspense, sympathy. A "must read"!
Rating: Summary: Koontz does it again! Review: I 've never been really too interested in Dean Koontz books but this book made me realize what I was missing. It starts out kind of slow with vivid details and descriptions of every little thing to set the mood just right. After about 100 pages into the book, I was hooked. This book is full of romance and action. It made me feel sorry for the dog and the monster. I felt as if I were there and they were talking and interacting with me. The main character, Einstien (a golden retriever) is a geniuos dog and he really touched my heart. Even the most dreadful character in the book gives you feelings of sadness, thanks to Koontz. Nora and Travis (the owners) had to overcome many obstacles to fight for what they believed and in the end, they did thier best. The ending leads you to start to think one thing and then, a final surprise. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who can read.
Rating: Summary: So Intense! Review: I loved this book from start to finish. I read this book when I was 16 and have read many other Dean Koontz books, but this has to be the best one yet. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll be terrified. It was just so intense that I could not put this book down. I recomend it to any Dean Koontz fan.
Rating: Summary: Tears galore! Review: This book, in concept, is the good twin to Koontz's other blockbuster Dark Rivers of the Heart. I've always had a tender spot for animals, but the emotions and ponderings this story wrought in the direction of animals with extreme intelligence is probably more profound than any other gene-experimentation plot ever! I love the canine star more than any ever introduced, and thanks to Einstein, cried basins out of love, anger, hate, sorrow, regret, pity, fear, and happiness for a life created soully to touch others! This is the most emotionally draining book you'll ever read if you're partial to dogs, and I guarantee you'll want to get a Golden Retriever when you're done! An absolutely heart-wrenching tale!
Rating: Summary: What a Great Story!!!!!!! Review: This has to be one of the best books I have read in a long time! It has a gripping story line that pulls you in and keeps you hooked from the first chapter. I could not put it down.
Rating: Summary: It is still the best book I have ever read! Review: Out of the twenty-three or more Koontz books I have read so far, I have to say this is still the best book of his. I read it when I was down in Orange County for the first time in my life and to know that he was writing of the same county I was in, made it even more horrific. The way he details his characters and setting makes the book that more easy to forget about the real world around you and put yourself into Koontzworld!!!! I recommend this book to anyone that loves Horror and Science-fiction books.
Rating: Summary: Koontz's best Review: He may re-work the same idea many times in his different novels (Mr. Murder seemed WAY too much like Hideaway) and use some seriously 2 dimensional characters in many of them, but with Watchers, Dean Koontz tells such an original story with such rich detail that it stands out. It still isn't as deeply layered as some of Stephen King's (not all of King is untouchable, as Cujo sucked) but Koontz really tells a compelling story with Watchers.
Rating: Summary: One of his best--and a theme revisited in SEIZE THE NIGHT Review: I think this is one of Dean Koontz best and one of my all time favorite books. It is a gripping tale of horror, love, and wonder. It is probably one of the reasons I am now owned by a Golden Retriever! This isn't the first time I have read this book--or reread it for that matter-- but I had to read it again after seeing that Koontz revisits this theme in his(soon to be a trilogy) SEIZE THE NIGHT series. This book definitely stood the test of time and I found I enjoyed it more than the SEIZE THE NIGHT series (although I enjoyed those enough that I'll buy the third book in hard cover).
Rating: Summary: "I LOVE THE CHARACTER EINSTEIN" Review: This was a heart-warming novel with all the compassion and lovability of "Lassie" except with more suspense and aaction to make it an even better tale. Definatley read this book if you like animals and action!! Only flaw was, the same flaw as many Dean Koontz novels, too much detail and rambing on and on and on. Still, read it!!
Rating: Summary: This is the most touching story I have ever read. Review: Full of suspense, tension, and description, I think that Watchers is the best piece of literature Mr. Koontz has ever written. This book is extremely emotional; the passion between a man and a woman who find themselves together is unbelievable events; the hardships an intelligent dog and his master endure in many horrifying and dangerous moments; but especially, the monster which hunts the dog, and whispers, "Kill me" when death awaits it while staring down the barrel of a gun.
