Rating: Summary: One of the author's best! Review: This is perhaps one of the best books ever written by Koontz. I started the book and could not put it down until I finished it. As a new Koontz reader, I can say that there was no other better book to start with. If you're not already a loyal Koontz fan, I'm almost sure you'll be one once you read it!
Rating: Summary: One of My Favorite Books..EVER! Review: This was the very first Dean Koontz books I had ever read..and the best! Since I read this book (about five monthes ago) I went on to read about twenty of Dean Koontz's other novels...I never found ANY other novels as good or better than watchers by koontz..some came close..but this remains my favorite by Koontz. I know it is 'different' for this to be said about a Koontz novel...but this is truley a Classic! People may be saying 'Koontz---classic right..." But it's true! This book is so perfect with no one word that needs to be ommited or added it is just perfection. It is no wonder everyone I ask says the same thing about this novel. Koontz's should ask 'Perraniel Classics' to publish because it is truley a classic, and I belive that when Dean dies this will become a widely read classic. I URGE anyone reading this to pick up Dean Koontz's WATCHERS, it is his masperpeice..it is what made him a main-stream writer...it is a classic...and it WILL be one of the best books you will ever read.READ WATCHERS...YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED..I ASSURE YOU...READ IT AND THANK ME LATER!
Rating: Summary: New to Koontz Review: This was my first Koontz book and I loved it!!! I could not put it down!!!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous read! Review: This was my first foray into Dean Koontz novels and after having read nearly 20 of them now, MOST of which I thoroughly enjoyed, I think this was by far the best. I've seen his prose get better over time--he's definitely grown as a writer and it's obvious when you compare his recent entries with one like Funhouse. I must admit, however, several of his more recent entries sacrifice the compelling action that got me hooked on Koontz for long-winded descriptive banter that had me skipping paragraphs ahead. Regardless, when it comes to a wonderfully intriguing plot, non-stop action, and a central character that makes you think twice about man's best friend, Watchers is about the best there is.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This was my first Dean Koontz book. It DEFINITELY will NOT be my last either. One of the book's main characters was a dog with a human mind. This dog made the story for me. I won't even go into the suspense this "watcher" thing'll put you through. It did lack the actual horror I thought it would have. Maybe, Mr.Koontz decided to break from the real gruesome horror and just make us really tense while falling off the edge of our seats? I have no clue. I'll find out soon enough though after I read a few more. Anybody reading this review that hasn't read anything by Dean Koontz should start off with this book. I don't know if this type of story just appeals to people like me (weird people, that is). But from what I've heard this book did a lot of selling when it came out. Try it. You'll enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I have been reading Koontz off and on for years, but I am largely disappointed, and I treat his books with a minimum of excitement. I picked this one up hoping that a couple of chapters would put me to sleep...and they didn't! This book was riveting! The golden retreiver makes a wonderful hero, and a witty main character. Koontz wisely limits himself to a handful of characters, but he paints them vividly and lovingly. You find yourself overjoyed and dismayed with every flip of the page, and the story moves quickly and draws you in. It has a couple really cheesy lines, such as "he felt his warm seed fill her" but all in all, the book is a FABULOUS read. I read it in two nights because I was hooked. You'll love Einstein the dog, and the sweet and unusual love story between Nora and Travis. The story follows them from their exiting meeting through their romance, as they are hunted by a terrible beast and a psychopathic hit man, both driven by a vicious desire to rip Einstein away from the only family he's ever known. The plot thickens as Koontz interjects many perspectives and arguments for and against radical genetic engineering. I was sorry to read the last page, and you will be too!
Rating: Summary: ANOTHER JEEPERS CREEPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: All I can say about this book is, I wouldn't want that creature chasing me!! Be prepared to be scared, this book will give you the creeps! Just a note: If you have seen the movie "Watchers", do not even put it in the same category as this book, the movie was an embarrassment to Dean Koontz. The book win's hands down!!
Rating: Summary: The best of koontz!! Review: This book is top rate from beginning to end. You will not put down this book unless nature makes you. Fall in love with the sweet dog and everybody else.So visually descriptive feels like your seeing it in person. Will stay in your heart forever.Grab a tissue you will cry and laugh with this story!!!
Rating: Summary: One of his best! Review: I thought this book was great with the exception being a tad on the hoakey side. It kept me turning the pages and I read it in 3 days!
Rating: Summary: my fave Koontz book Review: As a fan of this genre, I think I've got just about every book Koontz has written. This is hands down the best I've read by him and I would recommend this book without reservation to anyone. It reaches beyond the typical horror novel and the story is well written. For those who have read other novels by Koontz and not this one; don't wait! If you like what you've read so far; this will blow you away.
