Summary: Keeps you on the edge.
Review: This is the first Michael Crichton book I have ever read, but it is like the Jurassic Park movie: it keeps the action up all the time, especially after the first hundred pages.

The science sounds good, and I guess history also is, judging the bibliography found at the end of the book. It is an adventure book mixed with sci-fi and history, and very entertaining.

The explanation for time travel resembles the Sliders TV show or the Stephen Baxter the Timeships, but it never gets technical at all, and is one of my favorites. A really enjoyable book, which I think could be turned into a movie soon.

Summary: A Travel Through Time
Review: Imagine that one could actually travel back into time, or at least to another universe. Where would one decide to go? Fourteenth century feudal France sounds quite intriguing.

In his new book, author, Michael Crichton takes the reader again on a breathtaking journey with unimaginable risks. Similar to Jurassic Park and his other books, Michael Crichton once again focus on the cutting edge of technology.

However, much like Jurassic Park and The Lost World a rich man uses the most advance ideas in science and technology to do the impossible. As Always things go wrong and everything seems never to be the same as it was before. Despite being similar to Jurassic Park, it was obvious that Michael Crichton's Timeline takes the reader on a path never travel before with outstanding details and descriptions of fourteenth century feudal France.

This book was definitely a non-stop page-turner! Definitely a must read book!

Summary: Ironically enough, this book is too good for words...
Review: Far too rare is it that I find a book that compels me to read as if nothing else in the world existed. Timeline did this to me. I loved it. The only thing negative about Timeline is that it ended. I hope to see Timeline on the big screen in the near future.

Regards, Dan~

Summary: A Trip through History
Review: Michael Crichton has done it again. A book you want to stay up and read. here we have historians working on a site in modern France....and through a new technology..they start an adventure which take sthem back to the 14th Centuary, in France to the very spot they were studying. They learn they were wrong in their ideas of 14th centuary life. Very cruel and edge of seat life...See what it is like to be a modern person trying to survive in during he 100 years war. The technology for time travel is palusible and the historical facts appear right on target. A lot of research was conducted before this book was written!!! Do yourself a favor..read it.

Summary: Thrilling Story
Review: I'd have to say that Timeline by Michael Crichton and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand have the most exciting plots that I've ever encountered. Although I read this book quite a while ago, I often think about how extraordinary it was, from beginning to end. The suspense that Crichton creates is unbearable. I hate using cliches, but one is especially true for Timeline: Once you pick it up, you can't put it down.

Summary: Simply Amazing
Review: hmmm...what can i possibly say about the second best book i have ever read? (behind LOTR)...Crichton is a genius....the science is amazingly cool and interesting (I wound up doing a research paper on quantum physics because of this book)...admittedly, there are some "inconsistencies" noticed by some reviewers, but come on, does science FICTION need to be that precise and techical...the basic science is there and is just great
the idea is what got me to buy the book...going back 600 years to fight for your life, with the action and puzzles (the green chapel)to match? come on, it does not get much cooler than that...the twist ending and humorous little epilogue type thing is great and just adds to the amazing quality of Timeline
the characters are ones you can get behind, especially Marek and Chris and are just another example of the storytelling ability of Crichton

I could not put this book down, my fingers were filthy from the ink of the novel and when i saw that it was 3 am when i finished it, i realized again how great Timeline is

Like a great story? Love cool science in a sci-fi? Interested in history? Looking for something to do on a saturday? BUY THIS BOOK!!! It's worth every penny!

Summary: Not well written.
Review: I believe Crichton suffers from his own success. This book reads like it was put to print when it became "good enough". The foreshadowing is blatant, the plot mechanisms are cliche. He even makes a huge obvious mistake - the characters are using earpieces to communicate, which also translate language into common-era English on the fly; the thing is, for a good portion of the second half of the book, the characters have turned off all their earpieces, but can STILL understand what the locals are saying, when just 12 hours ago, they could understand nothing without the earpieces! There are other smaller time inconsistancies. This is just sloppy, and I think a lot of popular authors let their quality drop like this when they're pumping out a book or more a year.
Despite all of this, the book was still enjoyable, and that's what saved its rating. Crichton at least understands reader attention span and interest.

Summary: A great adventure.
Review: This book is fantastic! Great plotting.

Summary: Timeline
Review: Timeline is an exciting Technothriller in which a team of archeologists go back to the 14th century to rescue their professer, Edward Johnston, while trying to avoid being killed by the British and French during the Hundred-year-war. Crichton skillfully captures the anxiety and fear of the team, and adds a suprise ending. I recommend this book to all who A: Are a fan of Michael Crichton, B: Are interested in knights and archers, etc, and C: Just want a very good book.
