Summary: A book that opens the door to boundless truth
Review: A brilliant account by Paramahansa Yogananda that opens the eyes to the spiritual possibilities that exist everywhere and in everything. The reader is lucky enough to steal away from the story jewels of wisdom that have been discovered over thousands of years by the greatest Indian saints and gurus. It is truly an inspired book and will change one's life for having read it.

Summary: AN INTERESTING BOOK INDEED
Review: This 1946 edition is ok, but a bit incomplete compared to the improved version with the orange cover. Yogananda Himself revised much of Autobiography and removed most data about communities before his passing in 1952. He also added a 49th chapter which is missing from this 1946 edition. if you want to see the masters best work you will have to look beyond this page.

Summary: Illuminating!
Review: A book that has given me much hope, and spiritual direction. Beautifully written and infused with a love of God that touches the reader. It reads like an adventure story, and then explains God, the universe, existence, and self-realization. It truly has changed my life, inspired, and motivated me in my own spritual search. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: When one is ready, this book opens the door to discovery.
Review: Namaste, fellow seekers. When one is ready, this book opens the door to discovery of, not only self but, of Christ Consciousness. I have read the book 3 times already, cover to cover. I continuously discover new truths and lessons to guide me on the path to God. It is, truly a book for the lay seeker and the experienced traveler alike. Any devotee, no matter how new, will benefit from this wonderfully enlightening book. Autobiography also shows that true Guru's have a terrific sense of humor as well as true devotion to God and to helping others find their way on the path.

Summary: A book of great beauty and hope
Review: Beautifully written and footnoted, this book explains very clearly from both metaphysical and scientific perspectives universal truths. It has given me great hope that an "average" person such as myself (not a monk or hermit)can know God directly, and not by proxy. It is written with great humor, erudition, style and infused with the wisdom of an illumined master. I have been recommending this book to people I care about. It is truly the best book I have ever written.

Summary: Interesting, but slightly out of date.
Review: This older 1946 edition of the Autobiography is interesting but slightly out of date. Paramahansa Yogananda made many significant changes, and added a 49th chapter before he left us in 1952. For those who wish to see his improved versions of this great book, look for the most recent editions with the orange cover. I find that his vibes are even stronger in these newer editions, which more accurately reflects the full meanings and import of his teachings!

Summary: This book changed my life
Review: Check it out- it could change your life, too! Inspiring, engrossing, and full of wisdom.

After comparing this edition to later, revised versions, I find this one seems to have more of Yogananda's power and intent. Many changes were made long after his passing, even the spelling of his name was changed in later editions!

Summary: THE GRANDEST ADVENTURE IS HERE IN US ALL, SEIZE IT!
Review: A spiritual classic would be to grossly understate its potential effects; this book of truth and divine wisdom in this age makes it a true-godsend from one united with the Lord. Reading it a few months ago, I couldn't help but realize how all the people in our world could enlarge their realm of happiness with the tinge of divine sweetness by grasping this book's eternal essence and practicing its doctrines to lead one to soul freedom. Meditation on the Lord is our eternal birthright and duty, without it, that "something" else will never appear. Please, I urge anyone to read this book and practice the science of Kriya Yoga. Give it a try, for a day, a week, or month; however longer you persevere the effects of harmony will increase. I speak from my practical experience, to those that scoff at the possibility of the human soul and vitalism, I ask then, what do we then live for? A hundred hours of sensual satisfaction can not dare compare to the gentle aura of soul bliss one can experience during attempts at God-communion. When we once realize the eternal soul as Paramahansaji states, that something else has been realized.

Set aside your beliefs and pre-suggested notions of life for one moment, spend a few dollars for eternal knowledge that will unlock the door to the realm of infinite bliss, and you will see the practicality of the book will in itself lead you to seeking more. In that pursuit, you will find yourself!
