Summary: This could be the most important book you ever come across.
Review: Now, this book is fantastic, wonderful, and full of Truth. Not just a truth, but THE TRUTH, Capitalized! I read this over a year ago, and still feel humbled by the sweet way this story is told. Paramahansa Yogananda, founder of Self-Realization Fellowship, is a Yogi Master who has a grand mastery of the English language. If you love miraculous stories, then this is the book for you. I do not speak lightly when I say that it was an great honor to read this book. There is plenty of history in this book, and heartwarming stories. If you do not want to be changed forever, then do not read this book! However, if you could use sweetness, love, and all of the light you can handle, this book can change you forever! I give this book the highest possible ratings: 5 Stars. Please be warned that this is a real tear jerker. The humbleness with which this story is told is enough to keep you home for weeks crying with joy and it gives you hope! I can honestly say that my life has changed 1000-fold after reading this book. We have several copies in both hardback and paperback in our house, and we lend them out occasionally when our friends really need it. If you buy this book, and keep your heart and mind open, this will be the best investment you ever made. It has been said that Paramahansa Yogananda is present with all who read his book. I believe this with all my heart.

Summary: Un tesoro espiritual
Review: Este no es un libro común. Es un regalo maravilloso dejado por un ser sin igual. Para algunos significará haber llegado a casa, y para otros una experiencia de mucha ayuda. Una enseñanza para este tiempo.

Summary: This is the only unedited version available
Review: Contrary to the statement from the confused 'reader from the truth (?)', this is the only version in print that is guaranteed to be the words of Paramhansa Yogananda. See for yourself by visiting the publishers website (crystalclarity.com) to review this version.

Any version is worth reading, however! Methinks reader from 'the truth' (who's review reads uncannily like those of reader from 'the north', seeker 'by the sea', and reader from Canada) is hanging noodles on our ears, as they say in the old country.

Summary: THE OLD 1946 VERSION IS AN EDITED VERION
Review: THE OLD 1946 VERSION IS AN EDITED VERSION: This edition of the Autobiography was edited by Tara Mata and the author before it was published in 1946.

And before Yogananda left in 1952, He made many significant changes to the book, including the addition of the 49th chapter. In which He gave great emphasis to the importance of His life's main creation- The SELF-REALIZATION FELLOWSHIP. All editions are edited versions, and Yogananda's most complete work can be found in the most recent editions.

Summary: A Fantastic Spiritual Adventure
Review: Yogananda's Autobiography is a spiritual adventure of the highest order. Saints, miracle workers, miracles, lessons, all told with wit and wisdom. I couldn't put it down when I first read it twenty-five years ago, and I haven't put it down since.

This book has been my constant companion on my own spiritual adventure.

A footnote: both versions of this book are worth reading. I've read the later edited version, and this original unedited book. However, this is the best and truest in my opinion.

Summary: Read This Book
Review: If you want the Master's own words, rather than the shadow version later published (orange cover), then read this book. You can see for yourself by visiting the publishers website (crystalclarity.com) and reading the Master's words just as he wrote them.

Much was removed in later editions by ambitious editors, many years after the Master's passing. And much was added, now passed off as if the Master wrote it himself. Even his signature was forged and changed by these later 'editors'!

Again, you can check it out for yourself- don't take my, or anyone's, word for it.

Summary: Interesting Shadow of the Gurus final triumph.
Review: Paramahansa Yogananada made many important changes since he wrote this older 1946 edition. He also added chapter 49 to conclude the whole book, and left detailed instructions and loyal, skilled editors to complete the enhancements of this book. The complete and up to date versions (with the orange cover by SRF publishers), will give the reader a fuller view of the masters whole teachings. Don't miss reading the whole book.

Summary: Reading it changed my life
Review: All I can say is, it's far more than the "autobiography of a yogi." Its main usefulness is as a guide to the principles of spiritual unfoldment that have universal application, east or west. Human longing for "something higher," for the unfailing divine guidance and solace, isn't limited by geography. And Yogananda's wonderful account bears the stamp of his own, direct realization of what he's talking about.

I spoke with the people at Crystal Clarity, who remarked that the versions published after Yogananda's passing contained "at least 170 significant editorial changes." I'm not knocking SRF's editions--I first read one of them and was overwhelmingly inspired. But there's a special power and sweetness in Yogananda's original work that make this version of more than passing interest.

Summary: The Best Version of a Great Book
Review: This is the only version which is guaranteed to be the Master's own words. Later versions had changes made many years after the Master's passing. He is also a great writer- the original edition has a lyrical quality and magnetism that is unique.

You will be amazed, inspired, and charmed by Yogananda's stories. Meet unusual saints, read about miracles, and soak up the God-wisdom of a great Master from India.

To review this book for yourself, check out the online version, at the publisher's website (crystalclarity.com). Enjoy!

Summary: A Classic, but check out the unedited version
Review: This is truly one of the great spiritual reads of all time. This edition was 'edited' many years after Yogananda's passing. If you want the real version, check out the original 1946 edition available here at Amazon.

You can review the original edition online- it's there in its entirety on the Crystal Clarity Publishers website (crystalclarity.com).

No matter which version you read, however, you will not be disappointed!
