Summary: Another Existance
Review: After reading this book I can exist in Lyra's world. Pullman created somewhere that is more real (and more apealing) than reality could ever be. Reading this was like following Alice down the rabbit hole only with a purpose, or walking through the wardrobe into the world of Narnia in order to fulfill a destiny. Not cluttered by any messy romances that were never meant to be, and chock full of the greatest adventures anyone could possibly imagine. Let youself be trapped and thrown headlong into this explosive fantasy.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Truly amazing and breathtaking!
Review: When 12 year old Lyra overhears her uncle talking about a new elementary particle (dust) her adventure starts! With Pantalaimon her Daemon at her side she encounters witches, armored bears, evil scientists and many other characters that bring this wonderfull story to life, journeying north with the aid of friends and her alethiometer trying to fullfill her lifelong destiny!

Summary: The Golden Compass was a fun, magical, seat-gripping story.
Review: My teacher first told me about the Gold Compass...after starting it, I couldn't put it down...I loved it!!! I immediately went back out to the store, and bought the sequel, The Subtle Knife...Lyra, and her daemon were great!!! I can't get over the descriptive words...they're the kind you just like to roll around on your tongue and try here and there in a sentence. Philip Pullman is a sensational author!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent young-adult fantasy novel; for both boys and girls
Review: Philip Pullman has crafted a novel of astonishing brilliance, combining elements of high fantasy and leading-edge scientific speculation into the nature of the universe. The scientific research leads us to investigate the origins of intelligence and even the universe itself. That these topics could be dealt with so well in a novel clearly directed at the adolescent market verges on the miraculous.

This book will rank with _A Wrinkle in Time_ by Madeline L'Engle and C. S. Lewis' _Narnia_ stories in years to come. It is that good.

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK!!
Review: This outstanding piece of literature will always be on by bookshelf. Wheather your talking about Lyra's adventures at her beloved Oxford College, or her terrifiying trip to Bolvangar, you will enjoy every minute of this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Lose yourself from the beginning pages of this novel.
Review: Pullman's one-of-a-kind imagination is very hard at work in this novel. The colorful charchters, and vivid descriptions allow you to get lost in the novel and finish it before you realize it. I can't wait for the third novel in the series so I can meet up with Lyra and her many friends (and enemies) once again. Just like Pullman's "Ruby in the Smoke," "The Golden Compass" will have you on the edge of your seat until the last page.

Summary: This book was full of excitement and adventure!
Review: The title tells you something, but it doesn't tell you everything. I loved this book, just because of the way the author leaves you satisfied, yet hanging. It's sequel was great too! PLEASE, get the third book out. I NEED to read it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Interesting characters, unusal plot.
Review: Pullmans' other books were great, but this trioligy is spectacular! The way he leaves you hanging and the way he finishes the story really make you want to read more about Lyra, her friends, the daemons and all the rest of her strange friends.

Summary: This book is filled with wonder and fantasy
Review: I read this book and couldn't keep my eyes off of it.As it leads you into Lyra Silvertongue world of armored bears, breathless humans, and other creative fantasy creatures as Lyra goes to the north in search of kids who were kidnapped for scientific purposses. As she does it she gets help from her daemon Pantailamon, a daemon is a animal form wich when young can morph to anything its mind can think of and is connected very closely to a soul of its own. As she is searching she also has a goal to rescue her father Lord Asriel from a race of armored bears...Now I am hoping to get The Subtle Knife the sequel of The Golden Compass.

Summary: I can't put it down!!!
Review: I am still in the middle of reading this book but I am already into it...actually I was in the first chapter. My favorite thing about it was that it started with action, and the action is still coming, Mr. Pullman didn't start giving a full background (I don't really like that it gets boring fast for me). I can't wait to finish this book and start on the next one, I just wish that I had more time to just sit down and read it all now!
