It goes from finding her parents to getting an instrument that can tell almost anything. Her and her daemon start out on the adventure of a lifetime, going from the almost safe halls of Oxford college to the hazardous hills of Svalbard. A book that leaves you wanting more.

Review: The Golden Compass was a great book, I enjoyed it to the end and couldn't put it down, it was so exciting. It never became boring and the plot was well established. It is a good book to read in your spare time. Lyra is a great character and very well developed, along with Pan and her friends.
