Review: The golden compass is by far the best book I have ever read! And I read a lot. I could not put it down. Lyra is such a wunderful character. I loved the Deamons and wish I had one. I read The Subtle Knife as soon as I could to. After that I went out and bought all his books I could get my hands on. Philip Pullman is a genus for page turners, and suspence. The golen compass is not only for science fiction and fanticy lovers, its for people who love complex stories and good books. The golden compass is a must read! I can't wate for the next book!!!

Review: I love to read fiction. This book was most definatly one of my favorite books. I have also read the subtle knife and I call the bookstore everyday waiting to find out when the conclusion will come out. The concept of every body having a dameon that is part of your soul was amazing and at the same time very beliveable. It made me want to have a dameon that I could alwaus talk to.

Review: I love this book i wish i could meet the author my mom got me this book when i decided to read it I felt so gulity for not reading it soonerI told my friend about it she started reading it but she could not understand parts of it then I read the 2nd book and I fell in love with it these are truly the best books ever writin and I am long awaiting Philup Pullmans 3rd book I would recomend these books to anyone and everyone but i feel selfish about it because I dont want anyone to Know about Lyra and Pantalaimon's adventures so I was kind of glad when my friend didn't want to read it any more. but I would still recomend this book to any one Sincerly, Sarah Ostoin (age 14) P.S. I would like to Thank Philup Pullman for writing such a charming trilogy.

Summary: Brilliant and Extraordinary
Review: This book gives all the elements of a book that I like and also many elements that I have never seen in a book before. I think that the whole daemon part makes this book truly different than any other book I have read. Pullman puts this in a world that is familiar to me but he uses scenes from the past, present, and future. I think that this is one of, if not the, greatest book that I have ever read. I have suggested this book to many adult friends and they have all agreed that it is a rare treat. I read the Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife Several times each and am planning to read them again and again. The book is truly EXTRAORDINARY!!!

Review: I like to read, but I'm not all that crazy about it. When this book was recommended to me, it took me a while to actually sit down and start reading it. But after that first page, I was literally hooked. I couldn't put it down...I read it so much, in fact, that I finished it around 10:30 that same night-it took me only one day to finish it. Now, that's because it was good, not thin. This is not a little kiddie book. The Golden Compass has become my favorite novel and is likely to stay that way for quite some time. Pullman is a great storyteller, and I can't wait for the third book in the trilogy. (The Subtle Knife, Book II was good also.) Give this book a chance, and you'll like it.

Review: I read this book a short time ago and I didn't believed I would ever see a book that reach me the way The Golden Compass did until I read the sequel The Subtle Knife. They're the only books that have ever made me cry. Now I want my own daemon. This book should be ten stars instead of the five stars allowed.
