Rating: Summary: Perhaps the best series i've ever read Review: Harry Potter is fairly bland in comparisan. The oft-sung Harry Potter genre,is fairly common, but this is defintely new.The daemons are a intresting additon. The ending was,in my opinon, not only a fairly intellgint marketing scheme-though it might not be intended that way-but lets you wonder what does happen to Lyra. I like the strong female charetcer Lyra, displaying a group that is usally being rescued, not doing the rescuing. A good, fast paced read.It has appeal to all age groups, being simple enough for younger children, but in no way a ''kiddie'' book. This series deserves Harry Potter's publicity in full.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book Review: This is a great book. It starts out a little slow, but is really good as you get into it.
Rating: Summary: An Auothor to compete with Tolkien Review: If you ever need a book with it all in I would advise you to buy this one. It is one of the best books I have ever read and it is up there competing with the Hobbit. If someone came along and said what is your favourite book I would automatically say this one. It is full of action and adventure and is a brilliant story for all the ages.

Rating: Summary: ** What an intelligent view of fantasy and mystery... ** Review: This book is a superb example of a highly skilled author that knows what he is doing. All through out the book, I found myself in awe at the brilliance of each new event. To me this book is new and exciting,-which are really such excellent qualities hard to achieve in a book. If you want to read something quite different than anything you have ever read, pick this one up!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful and Magical Audio recording Review: WOW! What a wonderful full-cast recording! Having previously read the book, I am still captivated by this presentation. The voices were well chosen and bring a whole new dimension to the book. If you are a Pullman fan, don't go without this experience!
Rating: Summary: The Golden Compass: review Review: The book starts out with Lyra and her deamon (an animal friend who is the "physical infestation of your spirit", your deamon is your best friend and goes with you everywhere. Untill you reach the end of puberty your deamon can change forms. Your deamon is your protection basicly) living in Jordan college at a free lifeIn Chapter One, Lyra sneaks into the RETIRING ROOM, the room where Scholars and the Master and their guests, meet every night. She learns about Dust, thwarts a plan to kill her Uncle, Lord Asriel, and starts her adventure. With this beginning, Pullman hooks us into the adventure of our life time. Pullman cleverly crafts the entire story so just about everything has a purpose for being there. The symbolysm in this book surpasses any that I have read before in quantity and within reason (of being there). I cannot wait to get back to it (nope, I'm not done yet, but I feel that my opinions are strong enough). THANK YOU Amanda, for making me read this book. Luv ya'! ::wink::
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: This was an amazing book. It kept me thinking for a while and I was so happy that it was only the first in a series! Lyra and her daemon made me wish that I had a daemon of my own, someone who I could never be apart from and who had to come everywhere with me. The characters in the book were so well described and so interesting that I remember dreaming about them every night and predicting what would happen next. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys reading...period! You will find yourself thinking about the characters non-stop and will be influenced greatly by Lyra's wonderful adventure.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This book was very good, and it was suspensful until the very end. Very good, and entertaining, and easy to read. A wonderful fantasy that will keep you begging for more.
Rating: Summary: Superb! Review: Superb book! Pullman develops his universe as well as his characters fully and puts the reader in a splendid fantasy world. The ending (don't worry, I won't give it away) is somewhat of a cliffhanger, but the Subtle Knife continues where this book left off. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age--- its thats good!
