Review: Before I read The Golden Compass, I wasn't too crazy about fantasy novels. But as soon I heard it was about a very intelligent girl named Lyra who is on a mission to find out why children across the globe keep on disappearing without a trace, I knew this book was for me! Along with Lord Faa, Farder Coram, and Iorek Byrnison, the armored bear, she treks up north to solve this mystery. Philip Pullman also adds in many different surprises. I recommend this book for anyone who likes adventure!

Review: This is my first review, so I thought I should choose a book IREALLY enjoyed. I've read this book 5 times as well as it's sequel,and I can't wait for the third to be published! The plot is greatbecause no matter what you look for in a book you'll get it here; horror, suspense, action, adventure, mystery, sci-fi- whatever! And the best thing about it is Pullman writes so you can imagine it's REAL. I liked the heroine best of all. Lyra is funny, wity, brave and adventurous, and best of all she isn't helpless. Daemons- they're a stroke of genius. Soul mates who share your every thought and feeling. The theories are awsome. Read this book the first chance you get and thank me latter.

Review: Oh my gawd! What a good book. I'm a really high fantasy book kind of person, so this is my new favorite book. I first learned about this book through my aunt, who lent me her copy of The Golden Compass, and gave me a copy of the second book (I forget what it is called). I read the book, and I thought it was so great. I had some trouble with the words, but I got over them. Lyra was great, same with Pan. ...Mr.Pullman,... I think your book is great.

Review: What more need i say? The plot pace was fast and even, every page presents a new surprise, and the characters were complex yet totally believable. i especially like the the female protagonist being a half-tamed brat who yet possesses immense courage and intelligence and compassion. it is hard to imagine such a character alone, yet Pullman managed to flesh her out successfully. To all those who have not read it yet- QUICK! GRAB HOLD OF IT AS FAST AS YOU CAN! you will not regret it.

Summary: I Loved This Book!
Review: I loved this book. I read it a year ago, and I could not put it down. It is mainly about a young girl, Lyra Belacqua, who lives in a sort of alternate reality of our own world. One day she is snooping around with her "daemon" (a creature that every person in her world has and is bound to) when she discovers a few men talking about "dust." Events continue from there, with Lyra setting off on a miraculous adventure and discovering more about this "dust" than she ever thought she would. This is the book that really got me hooked on fantasy, and I believe that anyone even remotely interested in the content should check it out. You won't regret it.
