Rating: Summary: Ordinary People , Ordinary Retirement Review: This book tells you how retire more comfotably that your neibour and thats about it. I think I'll stick to Robert Kiyosaki
Rating: Summary: Good book about achieving great wealth! Review: An enjoyable read intended for anybody who isn't already wealthy!
Rating: Summary: Ordinary People, Decent Wealth Review: Extraordinary Wealth? I thought this was going to be a book about his clients who were everyday types and then became EXTRODINARY wealthy from doing some shrewd investing. Not so... this is what EVERYONE should be doing taht only want to have a nice retirement package. I'm sorry I want more out of life while I'm still young and REALLY want to enjoy the money I get. I have to say the 1st chapter is worth the book. I had known for a long time that I am right in having a large mortgage... I could just never argue with my firends as to EXACTLY why it was... this does it for me. This is a good book for people just looking to have money at retirment. One that is better is the "Wealthy Barber". That is an EXCELLENT book. I agree with one other revierw's comments about the book being mainly Ric's clients saying... "Yeah, this is what to do." Plus, trying to sell his other book and his investment company's services... that's what I saw MOST in this book. The books okay... but EXTRODINARY WEALTH!??? I don't think so.
Rating: Summary: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth Review: This is a good book by my standards. It shows you how regular people from various backgrounds have achieved wealth. It's motivated me to stay focused on my goals. I'd suggest anyone with a get-rich-slow mentality to buy this book.
Rating: Summary: Don't Waste Your Money Review: I thought this book sucks. It is a terrible read and just plain garbage. Edelman's book The New Rules of Money is a good buy and is probably my favorite book by him. The Truth About Money is a pretty decent book by him as well. I suggest and would recommend either of those over Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth. I would also suggest that everyone pick up a copy of Multiple Streams of Income (the regular book not the Internet Income) as it is the absolute best investing book out there. A definite 5 star book.
Rating: Summary: Easy to Say, Hard to Follow Review: Another financial advisor telling us, the ordinary people, how to amass great wealth by following a few simple rules. For an ordinary guy like myself, saving is a very difficult thing to do because whatever is left from my paycheck, after having paid all my bills, I use it to live life a bit. How can I sacrifice so much so young to simply reassure a comfortable retirement. Don't these people realize we only live once and if we just focus on retirement then we are not fully enjoying our present-day lives. When we grow old we can't have as much fun anymore as when we are younger, so what is the use of having money at such age. Either we invest, save, and wait until we get old or we just simply make the best of our ordinary life with our ordinary paychecks now. Which is it going to be?
Rating: Summary: Wealth Review: THis books first couple of chapters are really exciting to read then as the book goes on it tends to lose its initial appeal. A lot of the writing in the last third of the book are jibberish.
Rating: Summary: Book Buyers Get Taken Again!! Review: The rich do NOT carry mortgages despite what Mr. Ric says. The whole premise of this book is based on what is good for Mr. Ric, who is an unaccredited financial planner--but NOT what is good for you. And since it's your money that he is wasting you should think long and hard before following advice that gives HIM a commission or bonus. Oprah is usually right but on this book she is totally off the mark.
Rating: Summary: Lessons for Everyone! Review: Mr.Edelman shows anyone from any income how to create wealth. Real Balance Sheet wealth thats not limited to high income earners. There are specific information about tax benefits of mortgage interest and even the positive effects of teaching your children to be self-sufficent. A great book to assist anyones wealth creation plans.
Rating: Summary: One Financial Advisor on another Review: Ric has good insights into a breadth of topics, none of which are novel to the world of people that work in the financial services arena. This is an easy read that is ok for most people. Becareful of some of Ric's advise though, carrying a large mortgage is not a huge deal however don't go too far with his advise and over buy when you purchase a home. You should always pay yourself first, save a set dollar amount every month and invest it for your future, don't get caught up trying to beat the Jones's...you will always loose in the end. Finanlly, my last piece of advise...you don't know what you don't know until someone tells you something you don't know. You aren't a tooled financial advisor...don't be affraid to seek professial advise. There is a reason we are out there, we know things you don't and things that can't be put into a book such as Ric's books and others of the like. By the way, the most complete personal finance book I have ever read is Your Complete Guide to Money Happiness by Henry S. Brock. I recommend this book to clients, friends and family, it is an easy read packed with great information...check it out!
