NIV Audio Bible Dramatized Cassette

Review: This is a tremdous product and I encourage anyone to get the Bible on CD. The introduction to each chapter was helpful. The change of tones and backgrounds helped to bring life to the audio. I had tried another product on cassette 6 years ago and just was unable to complete it because of the tone. I completed the whole bible within 3 months with this product.

Summary: Eye opening.
Review: This is the first time I have "heard" the bible. Oh I have heard snippets of Scourby (which is excellent in it's own right), but this NIV version really brings the whole bible to life. I have picked up so much that years of reading didn't give me. There really is something remarkable in "hearing" the word of God.
I purchased the dramatized version. While there is light background enhancement such as violin, flute and rushing water etc, I didn't get distracted. I feel it is like watching radio!
If you get annoyed with background sound, you might consider the voice only version. And after searching the net (and I even work for a book store!) I found Amazon has the best price and I got free shipping!

Review: This is what I have been waiting for, the Bible on CD, in a great small sized CD case, in a good version-like the NIV. 64 CDs in all, organized well, in a CD holder that is only like 12" long, by 8" across, by 2 1/2" wide. I have had the Bible on tape for a long time, but they wear out, so I am glad to get the Bible on CD (also these CDs have a lifetime guarantee). Its perfect for keeping on the desk, by the bed, or with you on the go. It can easily fit in a back pack and is perfect for taking along in the car. The CDs sound great. And Amazon has a nice price on the set (Not much more then getting the NIV Bible in print, in leather). If your looking for a good version of the Bible on CD, and in a nice small size CD holder, this is it.

Summary: Well done but just too dramatized
Review: This recording was done very well, but the "dramatized" version is too dramatized for me. It's a bit like having Captain Kirk reading the bible to you. After a while it is just too much to listen to and you have to turn it off. God's word has been in print for thousands of years and I'll stick to learning it that way.

Review: Would be great if it didn't have the background music. For me it's like when you read something and realize you don't know what you just read. When I listened to these CDs most of the time all I could hear was that flute. Did they think the Bible needed help?
