Summary: Unbelievably powerful!!!!
Review: I have been a Christian for many years, but I have often struggled to get up the intellectual fortitude to actually read the Bible.
Let me tell you, I just bought this, and I started listening to Romans. The words of the Apostle Paul were slammed home to me with overwhelming force! I was teary eyed as the message of grace and love overwhelmed me. I love this! Every serious Christian, who wants the word of God to deeply penetrate their heart, should get this. Words can't express the feeling.
Let me tell you. Hearing the Word of God being read to you is so easy, and so wonderful. The message of the Bible has never been so deeply enforced on my heart. I also listened to the gospel of John, and I literally laughed and cried as I listened to almost the whole book in one shift at work.
Highly recommended. You won't be sorry.

Summary: Decent production
Review: I have just one thing to add to existing reviews. The Jesus character breathes in fast and heavy immediately before speaking (not normal inhaling). I suppose it's his technique to extend talking time. I find it distracting. I wish their audio engineer removed it during production. No other major complaint. Overall, good quality and excellent price. I compressed 64 CD's into 6 MP3 CD's and play them in my car during commuting.

Summary: Keeps you concentrated...
Review: I listen to the Bible on CD while I am actually reading the same text in my Bible. Having this "double dose" has really helped me to stay focused on the text. I just pause the CD whenever I want to study a passage more, read a text note, or look something up. This particular version is great because each person represented in the Bible has a different voice so you can tell when somebody else is speaking which can be difficult when only reading (ex. the book of Job). I love the intruductions to each book but find them limited. All in all, this is a great purchase and will greatly enhance your library.

Review: I loved these CDs and will be giving them as Christmas gifts! What I loved most is that these CDs gave me the ability to listen to a book from beginning to end--I was better able to understand the context for whom and in which the book was written. Each book begins with a brief overview, telling the authors name, his circumstance and why it was written, and even gives you a tip or two for how the particular message might be applied today. The CD trax are each one chapter, making it easy to stop and start wherever you need. The orchestration and sound affects really made the books come to life. The character voices are clear and well spoken. I just thought they were awesome. Some have mentioned taking these CDs on car rides. I put mine in a jogging cd holder and would walk on the treadmill every night until I had read/heard every book! Not only did I get healthy physically, I also got healthy spiritually! Not a bad combination!

Summary: Fantastic!!!
Review: I purchased both the dramatized and voice only cds. I thought I would prefer the voice only, but after hearing the dramatized version I have not gone back to the voice only.
It is not too dramatized, just right. It has a soft flavor too it, so it is pleasant to listen to before bed. I listen to them while I am getting ready for work, in the car, just before going to sleep, and with my bible at study time. It is nice to know how to correctly pronounce the biblical names.
I am also buying a set for my boyfriend for his birthday that is coming up, and will be buying some for friends at Christmas.
It is a fantastic purchase. It makes reading the whole bible easy, even if you have a busy schedule. :0)

Summary: way too over dramatized
Review: I was excited after reading the reviews but I am not at all impressed. These scriptures are almost hard to even take seriously as the are way to overly dramatized. None of the voices are normal and many don't even flow, as if the context of the reading was unclear. Romans is hard to even listen to as the tone changes and the speed is way to fast.
Zondervan has made some great books but I don't think they accomplished the same level of quality on this product. I would avoid it and look for a different audio bible. Maybe not dramatized.
