Summary: An Interesting Tale Including Discrimination and Racism
Review: Reading this book as a class assignment was all it was, until I was pushed into liking it with my own will by it's fantastic language and story line. Black against White brought an interesting topic for young Cassie Logan to take charge of. Mr. Morisson and his "Roll of Thunder" voice really brung up a doubtful question to my class's minds. Never did I nor my class know that Blacks went through such drastic hardships in their lives and how no matter what happened, never gave up. Mildred Taylor has done an outstanding job to this book for it is highly intriguing.

Summary: THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK!
Review: This boook is very true to history. It tells thee story of a young girl named Cassie who is faced with many racial people. She handles it though and as turns out.... well you'll have to read it for yourself to find out. I did a book report on this book and I really think that after it some people went out and read the book. It was truley a wonderful story.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: It is an easy book to read and it is ok.
Review: I had to read 'Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry'for my literature course at school. It was a very simple book to read. The language was simple and I could understand Cassie. I don't particularly like books like this. It is a book for children as far as I'm concerned. But i kind of liked it. Youcan read in this book how horrible the lives of black people were in the earlier days, and maybe still are at some places. I would recommend this book to children and young adults, but not for people over 15 years old.

Summary: A great book, a great story!!!!
Review: I really loved reading this book. It's a great story, kind of sad. It's not the best book I've ever read, but I really can recommend reading it. It isn't difficult to read. I read it in one breath. Once you start reading it, you just can't stop and want to know all about what happens to the family Logan.

Summary: it was an oke book to read, not too difficult
Review: I thought of it as a book which wasn't too hard to read.I got through it quite easily and fast. It was amazing and sometimes I got really angry of the people who discriminated the Logans. You can almost feel the way they did, because of the way Cassie described things. It was a very realistic novel, but I wouldn't pick it out myself if I had the choice. I really thought it was good of the Logan children to take revenge on the school bus. I probably would have done the same thing.

Summary: A story about a struggling colored family.
Review: This book is the best book about racism I've ever read so far. It really makes you think the way we treat each others even in the society today. I recomment it to everyone.

Summary: disaster! :o(
Review: how awful. how boring, uninteresting, and awful. this book does not give anything to the mind except for the knowledge that the black people did not have their way in life. nothing was good about this book except for the writing technique, which was fairly good. i do not recommend this book to anyone, including teachers of middle schools (i am one of them). only if you want to be under the influence of a conceited, self-centered story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent book!!!
Review: Mildred D. Taylor is an brillant author and this is one of her best books! I have read everyone of her books and they are just as fantastic as this one is. Her perspective on African-American history is beautiful. I not only recommend this book, but everyone of her books!!

Also, if you read this book, make sure to read the sequals Let the Circle Be Unbroken and The Road to Memphis.

Summary: This was a powerfully written, truth telling book. Buy it!
Review: The book roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, is a powerful book. It explains the hardships that blacks in the South went through, and what hateful whites did to them. The main character, Cassie Logan, is a young girl who has a short temper and wants to be treated equally with the whites. The book also tells about the Logan family's hardships of owning their own land, with some white people trying to take it away from them. Mildred Taylor does an amazing job of telling the truth about what went on in the South, in the form of Historical Fiction. I would recommend this book to anybody!
