Summary: Brilliant
Review: Garrison Keillor is nothing less than I genius. I listen to his stories while I clean my Northwoods cabins and they take me completely away from the fact that I'm making 33 beds and scrubbing kitchens and bathrooms. They whisk me to the lovely place known as Lake Wobegon and make me laugh out loud. I highly recommend this collection.

Summary: He was great 20 years ago; but he's changed
Review: In the early-mid '80s, I never missed APHC. There's no denying that Keillor possesses two gifts: a rare sense of humor, and that marvellous voice that was destined for radio. Unfortunately, with success came change; the same change that overcame Bill Cosby, turning his once-charming sitcom into a politically correct weekly lecture. Likewise, Keillor apparently decided that with his fame and fortune came the obligation to make the world a better place by spreading the good news of liberalism. Hence his tiresome attacks against Reagan, Bush, et al. The sad thing is that before he was overcome by this sense of his own importance, he WAS making the world a better place - with gentle humor, good music, and good talk. If only he had retained enough modesty to leave it at that.

Review: The unique genius of Garrison Keillor is shown to be ever present in this audio collection. This is the latest compilation collection in the "A Prairie Home Companion" series. The only way not to consider purchasing this is if you only wish to have a series of stories instead of the music and other skits, which I think are also splendid.

Review: This collection does a good job of mixing in old classics and newly released stories. Many people prefer only stories, and I can't blame them, but if you appreciate all phases of "A Prarie Home Companion," the n you will enjoy this compilation.

Summary: A great buy for those who need a sense of humor
Review: This is a great book. Indeed! it has been twenty-five years. I like the stories plus the musical numbers that go between the stories. I didn't know that there would be the song called The Way You Look Tonight. I also like the songs including, Cold Heart, and that all too familiar song Chapple Of Love. I like all the stories including the one about the living flag. I also like the story about that impeachment trial. All of this is very touchy and funny. This is a great buy for those who need a sense of humor. Buy it and get a sense of humor, and warm your world with the fresh laughter that Garrison Keillor provides. Come on! enjoy it.

He's literally a national treasure and his insights, humor, and brilliant storytelling make life a little easier to get through.
