Summary: Still #1 in my book
Review: This one book is responsible for my love of reading. I had never, and still have never read any book that has come as close to affecting me as much as this one has. From the time I picked this book up, on the advise of a friend, I was entranced with it. I have since read all of Ken Folletts novels, and as fabulous as they all are this book remains my favorite. I think it is the way that he can actually bring the charaters to life, and then make you genuinely like or dislike them, this is one of the keys to his powerful, and moving work. I stongly recommend this book to everyone that likes reading or is looking for the book to start there love of reading.

Summary: Ken Follett is a Pillar of the Earth
Review: You know how, just sometimes, you feel really disappointed when you read a book? That was how I felt - because I had finished it and I didn't want it to end. It's amazing to read how complex society was all those hundreds of years ago. This is how your ancestors may have lived, trading commodity futures to ensure they get through another winter. Being named for your trade or the town you came from rather than a family name. An incredible read that you just don't want to end.

Summary: A MUST READ FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES A GOOD BOOK!!!
Review: I read this book during the Blizzard of March 1992 (upstate NY) and what a blessing that was!. It could have been 90 degrees and I wouldn't had put this book down anyway!! It was fascinating and the storyline was absolutely captivating. The descriptions and the characters were amazing!! I have been in love with medieval fiction ever since and even planned my vacations around the theme. A MUST READ!

Summary: Read this or miss out on one of the best books ever.
Review: This is a great book. On my bookshelf, it is the only one that faces out so I can see it all the time, and therefore feel as happy as I was when I first read it. Every now and again, I will pick it up and read just a section of it - and know exactly where that lies in the story, because I've read it complete about 5 times. Why hasn't it been make into a movie? It is so cinematic. I absolutely love it

Summary: More!More!More!
Review: An absolute MUST read!! I finished it in about a day or so. Honestly I could not put it down. One word of advice, do not loan this book to anyone. You will never get this one back. Buy 'em thier own!!! Mr. Follett, PLEASE write more, more, more!!!!!

Summary: Incredible---Illuminating---Enthralling
Review: What an excellent book!!! I teach high school english, and reading Follett's book really added the human factor to a long-ago age. The characters are extremely believable, the action is incredibly fast-paced and tension-filled, and the attention to detail truly brings the time period to life. It's the most educational, entertaining, and spiritually moving book I've read in quite a while (and I read a lot). This book is definitely one to pass on to your friends

Summary: Just one word: Absolutely Outstanding!!!! (oops)
Review: This book was so wonderful, I bought the first edition version ($40) just for a keepsake. I have never been able to re-read a book, but I have already re-started this one. Since I have read this book, I cannot get enough of reading that period and time. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!! You will not regret it!!! Mr. Follett, if you are out there, please write a sequel to this book. Hollywood, if you are out there, please write a (very long) mini-series to this book. It would have to be very long to give it justice. Even then, I doubt Hollywood could pull it off. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

Summary: One of my all-time favorite books
Review: In my top 5 books ever read. A sweeping saga that spans generations and truly captures what it must have been like to live in these times. A wonderful story line and a good long novel you can sink your teeth into. Crazy ending too. You won't be disappointed

Summary: One of the few books I recommend to friends
Review: When done well, Historical Fiction is for me one of the richest genres. I'm a different, better, more tolerant and more passionate person for having read Pillars. This book belongs on the short list of outstanding modern fiction

Summary: ARUBA READABLE
Review: OF THE 30-40 BOOKS A YEAR I READ, THERE ARE A SELECT FEW THAT I WILL PERIODICALLY RE-READ. PILLERS IS ONE OF THOSE. WHILE PACKING FOR A 10 DAY VACATION TO ARUBA, WITH MY GIRLFRIEND HAVING PURCHASED A VERY THIN BIKINI-RED, I STILL PICKED FOLLETTS BEST TO BRING ALONG, AND FINISHED IT WHILE ON THE BEACH! HIS STYLE AND STUDY TRULY COMES OUT IN PILLERS OF THE EARTH
