Summary: I LOVED this book...
Review: Okay...so I'm an SEP diehard fan and will pretty much buy anything she writes. I was somewhat hesitant at buying this book because it's HB, and my budget just can't take it...but, it's SEP, and I had to have it. All I can say is...it was worth EVERY penny.

The characters in this book became my friends, they were all so unique and fascinating, and I just wanted to hang out with them. I laughed out loud many times, and thought the story was charming, funny, and romantic. I can't recommend this book enough to my friends and family, and I hope everyone adores it as much as I did. It was such a fun book. I finished it almost a week ago, and I'm STILL thinking about it. I almost wish I hadn't read it already so I could read it all over again for the first time. If I didn't have a bunch of books in my TBR stack, I'd probably go back and read this book again...hmmm...maybe that TBR stack can wait afterall.

Summary: SEP is a master storyteller...
Review: Having read just about every book published by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, I couldn't wait to get my hands on her newest offering, AIN'T SHE SWEET. I must admit I was expecting more of a light-hearted comedy reminiscent of the humor found in her "Chicago Stars" books. But what I did find was a powerful redemption tale that dealt with the darker side of the human psyche. The book brought to mind another "redemption tale" of SEP's, DREAM A LITTLE DREAM. Like many readers who start out reading AIN'T SHE SWEET, I had the idea in the back of my mind that the book's heroine was way past deserving forgiveness and thought to myself, "Ms. Phillips, there's no way you are going to make me like Sugar Beth!". However, in the SEP's world no character is beyond hope and by the end of the book, I found myself truly fulfilled to learn that bad starts can lead to happy endings and that bad girls can do good.

Summary: Great Read! Worth Every Penny!
Review: I have made it my policy not to write a review unless the book is deserving of four or five stars! If there had been more than five stars available to rate this book, I would have given every star available. I won't go into the story line because other reviewers have already done so. It was a fantastic book. I started out thinking I was going to HATE Sugar Beth and never forgive her no matter what but in the end I actually liked her. She was the B**** that we all hated in High School and the B**** that now torments us at work. But in the end, she grew up and turned out to be a decent human being. This book, as always with Susan Elizabeth Phillips, will end up on my keeper shelf. The only bad thing about this book was that it was SO good, it's making the stuff I am reading at the moment seem mediocre.

Summary: The BEST Story I've read in a long time
Review: I'm a big SEP fan because she writes funny, quirky characters who aren't your run-of-the-mill romance novel characters and she writes the absolute best dialogue I've ever read.

This book is phenomenal. I could not put it down. Some parts had me laughing out loud and others just made me want to cry. Sugar Beth was a spiteful, mean-spirited girl in her youth, most especially to Winnie, but SEP delves so deeply into Sugar Beth's psyche that you understand why she acted the way she did. Her motivations are very clear. The Sugar Beth we meet at the beginning of the book has grown up and taken her fair share of lumps and she ends up taking several more before the book is through. But she doesn't let any of it break her spirit.

I'm a sucker for a heroine who's a wise ass and a hero who can throw it right back at her and that's Sugar Beth and Colin. They are just so funny together, yet touching at the same time. The kind hero and heroine that stay with you long after you've finished reading the book.

This is a wonderful story. I wish I could have given it more stars.

Summary: Not up to her usual standards
Review: Last SEP book I'll buy, they just keep getting worse. Her earlier books were much better, now she is just recycling parts of other stories.

Summary: Absolutely Wonderful!!!!!
Review: I was a little unsure of this book at first, but being an SEP fan I decided to give it a try. Not only was I pleasantly surprised, I was so in love with it that I stayed up till 3 a.m. reading it. This book has everything, and you'll nevr want it to end. A definite accomplishment for Ms. Phillips!!

Summary: Ain't She Sappy...
Review: The first and last SEP book I will read. The humor was cliche, the ending was an unrealistic fairy tale and the novel was one step above a Harlequin romance novel. I am sure I winced a few times reading this book. I just kept hoping it would get better.

Summary: DUH...................
Review: I just finished AIN'T SHE SWEET, and to tell you the truth I'm not sure if I loved it, or if I hated it. I do know I am not indifferent to it.

I don't think I've ever read a book that gave me such wide mood swings. It will probably take me at least 2 weeks to recover from it.

I am so glad I read it, but I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

Sugar Baby, Colin, Winnie, Ryan, GiGi, the Seawillows, not to mention Gordon, the dog, are some of the most diverting characters I have read.

But this is Susan Elizabeth Phillips, so who knows where she finds such memorable diverse characters.

So go for it, this is a totally engrossing book. Maybe you'll know what to say about it. Anyway, I'll bet it knocks your socks off too.

Summary: My new favorite author!
Review: I am so glad that a co-worker recommended this book to me after 5 other women read it in 1 day or less! I knew it had to be good. This was my first SEP read, and will not be my last.

I give Ain't She Sweet ***** because of the funny & quirky characters, the LOL moments, the cat fights between the women characters, the steamy "tear your cloths off of each other" passionate scenes, the old town charm and that it lived up to it's recommendation that it's a page turner until the end.

Summary: Great Read
Review: From the moment that you first see Sugar Beth returning to the scene of her high school crimes in her beat up Volvo, accompanied by her hostile basset hound, you know you're in for a great read. This is an amazingly funny book that you simply can't put down. The characters are well drawn and attack each other with razor sharp wit, and the writer's psychological insights are dead on. I can't remember when I so thoroughly enjoyed a book from cover to cover.

This is the first book by this author that I've read, so I have no comparison to her previous work, but I plan to get every one of her earlier books and devour them at the earlist possible moment. I strongly recommend that you do the same; you won't regret it.
