Summary: Lose Weight Quickly!
Review: I heard Arthur Agatston on television six weeks ago. The diet sounded great so I tried to find the book at my local bookstores. No one had a copy! So I ordered it from Amazon and lost 7 pound the first week! The book stresses a change of eating pattern for life, as a result you'll lose weight. I was never hungry; but there is one down side. During the first two weeks you'll need a lot of time to prepare the recipes and get the ingredients. It is well worth it though! After that you move into a maintenance mode that is easy and quicker to follow.

Summary: On the right track
Review: This book is still another design for Fast and Healthy Weight Loss, based on low carbs. While Fast is always appealing, Prudent is better. The book certainly contains helpful information; however, Play Your Carbs Right! by the Brennans is easier to follow and stresses the wisdom of changing one's way of eating as opposed to "dieting." There is no quick "fix" to long-term weight loss where good health is concerned.

Summary: Great plan but content is inconsistent
Review: I found the diet helpful and easy to follow, but found some inconsistencies with the book's content and specific diet plans, including: Phase I describes a carefully planned two week menu, but neglects to mention whether or not days can be transposed. Also lists "accepted" foods for Phase I, but does not mention them in the actual Phase I menus. In addition, the text advises the reader to use "real" mayonnaise at all times to avoid sugar contained in low-fat mayonnaise, but then advises using the low-fat version when preparing the recipes. I would have thought an editor would have flagged some of these issues.

Summary: Week 1 of Phase I...Already dropped 7 pounds
Review: I have tried the Protein Power program and lost 12 pounds but really didn't find it easy to maintain the eating habits or the lifestyle change. Also tried the Atkins diet for a while but couldn't really stick with it. I did lose weight, but again, couldn't sustain the eating habits nor make long-lasting lifestyles changes. Enter the South Beach Diet... My wife and I have read the book and started the program. We are nearing the end of Week 1 of Phase I...she has lost 8.5 pounds and feels great...I have lost 7 pounds. We're both impressed at how easily the weight is dropping off and neither of us is starving. The rapid drop in carohydrate consumption is a challenge but getting through the first two weeks will likely break the dependency. We're both quite excited with the results and look forward to making lasting changes with the South Beach Diet long-term. Highly recommended!

Summary: IT WORKS!
Review: I HAVE TRIED ABOUT EVERY DIET THERE IS AND THIS IS THE FIRST ONE THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME. I HAVE LOST 4 POUNDS IN LESS THAN A WEEK. ONLY PART THAT IS HARD IS NO CARBS LIKE BREAD AND POTATOES FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEK. I LOVE THE RESULTS.

Summary: I don't need lipo - thanks to Dr. Agatston
Review: I, Robby Genepri, have been through a blender of a life. Some people with weight problems just get lipo like this slothful reviewer named Rich Jameson. If you can't beat em join em, right? Well, I say wrong. The best things in life are worth fighting for - including your health. And now I feel like I can control my weight problems - thanks to Dr. Agatston. The aqua cover is soothing for my migraines and bipolar disorder.

As Dr. Agatston says, the proof is in the pudding - pardon the pun! In order to get the love of how good you look, you need to feel the love from Dr. Agatston. It all starts with self-perception - and finding your own inner strength and making it work for you. Of course, I went with the CD version for my ride because I'm awfully busy with my cartoon editing. I'll take hard work and a little common sense from Dr. Agatston over the pitiful shortcut of lipo from Dr. Van Velvo anyday! I'm at 239 and have lost 47lbs. - with no lipo! And that's a memo.

Review: I strongly recommend this book for folks who have tried multiple diet plans. It is easy and you will find yourself wanting others to do it with you! Yes, the weight comes off, but what feelings of self-control and discipline!!! WOW!

Summary: Finally!
Review: I am also like alot of other people who have tried Weight Watchers Etc.
I love this book and the diet. My husband was so impressed with my lack of "crabbiness" with this diet that he is doing it too!
I have lost 8 pounds in 10 days and love it!! Hubby just started and has already lost 3.
I definitely would recommend this book to people who want to lose weight without starving and deprivation! NO shakes, pills, point counting. It really is great and it works!!

Review: I bought this book for my wife. She didn't get thin. She got fatter.
You had to buy all kinds of weirdo food and measure stuff. It was ridiculous.
You should stick with Atkins or just go on a cottage cheese diet.
