Summary: The greatest contempary story to date
Review: only McCourt himself could describe the greatness of his Angela's Ashes with the true eloquence it deserves.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: in appreciation for every meal hereafter.
Review: Frank McCort, this book was the best, Sad. I can't explain it. I didn't go back to work till the book was done. then it still took a few days. I can't apperciate a meal, or a warm place enough. It was like eating just after reading "Alive". i would sometimes just go to my kitchen and cook an egg or eat some soup. Frank come to my home and i'll get you some fish and chips. tis.

Summary: Och, a round of pints on me for Frank McCourt!
Review: Frank McCourt delivers. The writing in "Angela's Ashes" is crisp and clear, and the story keeps the reader turning the page. Whoever awarded the Pulitzer for this book called the right shot.

Summary: Broke my heart.
Review: I felt as if I were walking right behind Frank McCourt as I listened to him tell his story. I could see his life..if only I could have held him in my arms and told him it would all turn out fine. He would grow into a wonderful, gifted, loving man.

Summary: Tremendous!
Review: Although I read the book almost a year ago, I still think about it frequently. An original and gripping story, I can't wait to read it again and again. Fantastic!

Summary: Have another beer Frank
Review: I got through halfway the book and gave up. Where is the the NY Times number 1 bestseller? It was boring and the chapters were redundant. Dad loses his job. Dad comes home blammo. Dad makes us sing. Another sibling croaks. Come on did he have such a precise memory of his childhood? I don't even know what I did an hour ago. The only thing good about this book is Pop's taste in his brewskies. But then again, you probably can't get anything other than Guinness in Ireland. And Frank, you ever hear of "QUOTATION MARKS!?!?"

Summary: Angela's Ashes
Review: I hated this book. I had to read it for a class in school, and I did not enjoy it at all. If I would have the choice again I would say NO!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Flawless and gripping, but it's adult stuff!
Review: At unexpected times of the day I suddenly find myself weeping for Angela. I want to do something to honor this woman, or her memory. I want to know when her birthday is, to have flowers put on the altar for her. I want to know when she died, to light a candle for her. I imagine having her over for tea in my home, on a white tablecloth, with my best china and flowers. Please Frank, let me know that you brought your mother to the states. Let me know that she had some good days in her later years. Please let me -and thousands of other readers - know.
