Summary: Good if you have an overeating problem
Review: I recieved this book as a gift from my grandmother because I've been whining about the 20 pounds I've gained while in college. While this book would be a great help if overeating was my problem, since mine is a problem of eating too little and killing my metabolism, it wasn't a help. If you have other issues that are makeing you overeat, this will be great for you. If your problem is something other then that, do what my doctor says: eat better, exercise more.

Summary: Occasionally patronizing, but mainly makes very good sense
Review: Sometimes Dr. Phil gets a little bit patronizing, but mainly he's a really good guy who understands that it's really difficult to lose weight, particularly if you've got a lot to lose. His book is gimmick-free and it makes a lot of sense, so give it a chance.

Review: What impressed me about Dr. Phil's program was that I was able to lose weight, gain energy and had improved mental clarity. Dr. Phil's 7 steps makes losing weight a snap. Diets are a dime a dozen, but do they work? This one does.

Review: Dr. Phil is for real. He may not be the embodiment of what you would expect from his physique but the guy sure knows how to lose weight (he has lost weight himself with this program. He doesn't have to be thin)

I lost over 30 lbs following Dr. Phil's Ultimate Program. I feel better about myself and that is how I started to lose weight. Before I always looked at myself and would say negative things to myself like; "You fat slob. You look disgusting!" That is not the best way to stimulate yourself to get results. I only felt worse about myself and would go eat more.

Dr. Phil got me on the right track. His program works. Try it -you'll get results.

Review: Dr. Phil's Ultimate Diet is not a "fad" or "gimmicky" diet, it is a sensible program that really works. It works on the inside by changing the way you think and then it works on the outside by getting you to change eating habits and implementing life style changes.

Fad diets don't work. Dr. Phil's sensible program does. I have lost over 25 lbs since following his system. It works. Try it. You'll love it.

Summary: No hype
Review: I like Dr. Phil and his down-to-earth approach. I am a notorious viewer of his TV programs. But I think that his book would be much better if he consulted with some experts in the field of Health and nutrition, such as for example Dr. Tombak ("Can We Live 150 Years?). Then his book would get much more essence. But it is still OK. No hype.

Summary: Dr. Phil helped me
Review: I have lost 36 pounds since I read this book. Dr. Phil really helped me to change my lifestyle to support my new body image and to discipline myself. Frankly, I couldn't lose weight for years and what started me down the path was a book called Optimal Thinking-How To Be Your Best Self. Optimal Thinking helped me to eliminate the self-sabotage mechanism that had been with me since childhood and to commit myself to be my best in every situation. It showed me how to do that and led me to this book. Now I have everything I need to get rid of my negative self image and truly give life my best shot. Dr. Phil makes weight loss easy.

Summary: At long last!!!!!
Review: A book that truly lives up to it's title!!! At long last, an author who really understands that most failed dieters don't need information about what to eat, they need help to understand their relationship with food and identify their own personal formula for success. Dr Phil really focuses on helping us to understand why we inappropriately "medicate" and "celebrate" with food, and his straightforward "no frills" approach really hits the mark - you will truly find yourself able to appreciate healthy food, and not feel deprived in avoiding the foods and behaviours which are keeping you fat. I could not put this book down, and cannot enthuse highly enough about it - it really is an absolute must for all Dr Phil fans, and anyone who appreciates that weight control has far more to do with your mind than your plate!!! As Dr Phil always says - "you cannot change what you dont acknowledge" After reading this book, you will truly understand your own reasons for overeating and have the tools to change your life forever!!!!

Summary: Losing Weight is easy with this book!
Review: I know so many people are skeptical about dieting books. But this isn't really a diet book, it's more about changing your lifestyle, not just cutting down on foods for a while. You may argue that being overweight isn't bad and that 'skinny people suck' but obesity is a HEALTH RISK, people! I weighed 215 lbs. when I was 16, you know how hard it is to go through high school being so overweight? It's horrible. Lucky for me, I had (and still have) many good friends and no one ever made fun of me for being overweight, but one thing about this book is that you learn that you have to be who you are. It's imperative that you love yourself. If you can love yourself being a few pounds overweight then that's awesome. But all of you out there who are very much overweight and are just too lazy to lose the weight and fool yourself into thinking you are 100% ok the way you are, you are wrong. You'll feel SO much better with who you are when you can walk a mile and not be dying when you sit down to rest. I'm a happy 139 lbs. and I love that I did this!! Get happy with who you are and read this book!

Review: Covers a bunch of topics relevant to people trying to lose weight other than just diet and exercise. A fun read. Readers might also like "Treat Your Own Knees" too.
