Summary: This is a must read!
Review: The Thorn Birds was the first miniseries I ever watched and I fell in love with it completely. Then I read the book and I enjoyed that even more. As an amatuer writer myself I love the way Collen McCullough pays attention to detail and makes you feel every part of the book. The scenes between Ralph and Meggie are charged with such energy that you can actually feel it. This is my favorite book and I would recommend it to everyone.

Summary: the best book i ever read
Review: Anyone who loves a good old romantic saga should read this book. You go through so many emotions while reading this book. I could not put it down and I cried all the way through it. Even though I am only 16, I know what a good book is and this one is great. Everyone should read this book and watch the miniseries.

Summary: The Thorn Birds; An Australian "Gone With The Wind"...
Review: I, like millions of other people around the world, watched the addictive mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward first before delving into the book. And I feel in love for life... A wonderfully written, captivating tale of eternally forbidden love, it is truly one of the most unforgettable fictional love stories of all time, right after Scarlett and Rhett. I think Colleen should right a sequel, but it would not be the same without Father Ralph. The Thorn Birds will forever stay in my mind, and every couple of years or so, I pick up my dog-eared, paperback copy and dive right in again. I would recommend this book to anyone in the world interested in an enticing, moving love story that transcends time.

Summary: A great man with a wonderful woman
Review: This is one of the books I read in my midteen that affected my view point and value for love. Ralgh is the most ideal male in the world for woman I think until he discarded his meggie. But still he is such a perfect man who I will never really understand. His intelligence and ellegance will be devastating for almost every woman and his love to Meggie, a sweet little girl is so adorable. The fact that he chose HIS lord made me wonder what love really is. Does he love her or does he not. That confuses me. But still it is so remarkale when they meet each other at the end of the story. Is all the sacrifice and exteme pain of the thorn bird worth evething they get at the end? I can't tell the answer. I wish you would enjoy the book.

Summary: A great book!
Review: My mother and I absolutely adore The Thorn Birds! :-) Actually I have read the book and seen the miniseries but my mother has only seen the miniseries. It combines all aspects of life into one excellent book! We just taped the 8 hour long run of the miniseries that was recently played on Romance Classics. We plan on saving it for years to come. It is the type of book that you don't want to put down and the movie that you don't want to stop watching. Seeing Meggie and Father Ralph finally get together is the moment that you wait for!

Summary: One of my favorite books
Review: I have a few books that I always return to and The Thorn birds is one of those. It is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest love stories of all ages, one that could stand the comparison with the love story of Romeo and Juliette or Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot... Every time I read it, I discovered something new. The characters are complex, true. It is a story about love and fate. A beautiful love story and so a sad one. Because the best can be reached only by a great suffering... or so says the legend of The Thorn birds.

Summary: A great story indeed!
Review: The Thorn Birds, is one of those books that will enchant you and let you be part of the story you are reading. The reader is taken to the place where it all started and to the very end. The love affair in this story is UNIQUE and will transfom you as you read through it. It was made a movie, a great one, but the book is always better and more entertainning. If you love the philosophy of life and like to discover its many sides, read this book. You'll never forget The Thorn Birds.

Summary: YES! Oh YES!
Review: I could not put this book down. I had seen bits and pieces of the miniseries, but had never read the book. I ended up on a camping trip longing for something to read, and picked up this book at a book trade in the campgrounds. Could NOT put it down. Wonderful writing by Colleen McCollough with powerful characters and an extremely touching and moving array of relationships (especially between Maggie and Ralph). I have read it three times now, and it's still probably my favorite.
