Summary: When, When, When????
Review: WHEN do we get to see the sequel, Clash of Kings???? AGOT was one of the best fantasy novels I have read. The story-telling is clear and vibrant. the characters are multi-dimensional and the author takes time to give them depth. The wait for the next installment is painful!!!

Summary: A rare type of book
Review: Very few books can make me hate and love the characters, and I read an average of 200-250 books a year. The detail and advanced plot twists in this book is incredible. I can barely wait for the novel to come out. A rare book

Summary: ROBERT JORDAN WAS ENTIRELY RIGHT: "IT'S BRILLIANT."
Review: In life, and in literature, we are often accosted by not only images but words. Whether it be by bold and flashy titles, or by ripe and rustling female appendages, the feeling we experience is the same: We are left feeling less and wanting more. Not so with George R. R. Martin's book, "A GAME OF THRONES".

I chose this book while my fiancee' and I were out for a movie. She was in Dietrich's Coffee, drinking her beloved frapuccino, while I was crouching down among the stalls (not what you might think) at our local book store. After an hour of assault by titles and poorly executed prefaceing, I saw the cover of "A GAME OF THRONES", and was instantly intriqued by how the cover picture appealed to me. Here was something I could relate to: A man, almost as good looking as myself (they almost always are), and his dog. Of course, I shouldn't forget the sword. Nothing fancy, just primal. This drew me to the book immediately.

As Firemarshall Bill would say, "Let me tell you something": This book is great!

It has sexuality (very important for married, almost married, or lonely readers), it has the famale and male perspective, and it has class. I must say, Robert Jordan (he is also one of my favorites along with Stephen R. Donaldson)was right when he said: "It's brilliant." Whatever the case, I assure you that you won't be disappointed. It will restore your faith in fantasy, and if your lucky, convince wife or significant other that fantasy isn't always about boys and their toys. If you read this, Mr. George R. R. Martin, well done. You have succeeded where most fail!

Summary: MORE!!!
Review: I just finished the advanced reading copy. The book is simply awesome. It is a combination of Dumas and Tolkien. And finally, fantasy has real 3D characters! but hey, I suppose, you knew after reading the first one. Can't wait till the third one comes out

Summary: Excellent, a must read.
Review: This book is so good I could not wait to finish it and pass it on to a friend. Great characters, superior plot and fantastic locations. I look forward to the sequal.

Summary: Superlative! Excellent world-building, fantasy, and writing!
Review: I read about 200 books a year, fiction and non-fiction, and have been reading f & sf for 35 years now. Unlike the vast majority of dreck on the market, "A Game of Thrones" built a large, consistent, lively, unpredictable, and thoroughly human world. I rarely get excited about books, and even less often look forward to sequels, but this is worth the two-year wait (if only, if only it were less!) George Martin fulfills the talent for invention, horror, and fantastic realism he showed early in such short stories as "Sand Kings". In "A Game of Thrones" he has managed to take the tired old coming-of-age medieval fantasy and demonstrate that it is not the genre which is exhausted, merely the legions of hacks and drones who churn out tome after tome of repetitive twaddle. If Mr. Martin doesn't turn the third book out in less time, he may be subject to threats! A real find; read it slowly, because you can experience the first time only once!"

Summary: Absolutley amazing!
Review: I am a fairly diehard fantasy fan, having been weaned on hardcore scifi as a child. Up until now I was rating Robert Jordan at the top of my favorite authors list. Well sorry RJ but George Martin just bumped you a notch. The author does an excellent job a fleshing out the characters with a minimum of words (unlike RJ). I am torn now knowing that characters I have come to respect and know are destined to be enemies, and Mr. Martin has the nasty little trick of developing really great characters and then killing them! All I can say is that I am anxiously waiting the next book and my only solace is that RJ's Path of Daggers is due out next month.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I love every single page of AGOT. The hate, the love I felt toward the characters are unsettling, as not many authors can make me feel that way. I came across this book by chance and now am checking the bookstore every week to make sure Bantam has not push the publication date of ACOK forward. And this pose a slight problem for me, the reason that I do not like to read fantasies very much. THE WAIT!!!!!!! If Mr Martin and any other author out there ever read this, please answer this eternal question: Why can you not write it all in one book instead of dragging it out till Kingdom come? By the time the second, third volume come out, I forgot what happenned in the first one!

Summary: A Game of thrones was brilliant!
Review: In his first book I read, I was amazed at the description and how he describes everything in the novel. It made me feel like I was part of the story. It was the best book I have read in a long time.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Simply the best!
Review: All I can say is that this is by far the best book I've ever read. It took me no time at all to read it. Many a night I spent up till about 2 reading, not wanting to put it down. I can't wait till A Clash of Kings comes out. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
