Everything happened so fast so he didn't know if he saved the girl's life or not. When he went to heaven, he met five people that was very important in his own life. Some people are not who you would expect they would be, and all five tought a lesson to Eddie. Read this book because it is very good!!!
Rating: Summary: Something only heaven can unfold Review: Eddie had devoted his entire life fixing rides at Ruby Pier amusement park. Though he had witnessed the vicissitude of the park and was enamored by the children to whom he brought much joy, Eddie felt trapped in a meaningless life. He had outlived his wife Marguerite, who died of brain tumor at the age of 47, and most of his family and friends. Rooted deep in his heart was an unbearable bitterness with which he intransigently held his father accountable for his loss of career, loss of freedom, and the loss of hope.On his 83rd birthday, Eddie died in a tragic accident, trying to save a little girl from a falling cart that was snapped loose from the cable. His last earthly vision consisted of two mysteriously hands resting on his body. Eddie awakened in the afterlife and learned that heaven was a place where five people who were in it explained his earthly life to him. Five people presented to him five patches of memories that were crucial in unleashing the truth of hidden connections in Eddie's life. As the story unfolded, Eddie met his lineup of five people, of whom were loved ones and distant strangers, who each taught him a lesson and words of truth that changed his life forever. The Five People You Meet in Heaven is a beguiling novel that blooms with surprises as it explores a mystery only heaven can unfold. It explores the meaning of our lives on earth and how lives and their incidences overlap with those of others. It explores the boundary where fortuities become no longer fortuitous but converge with daily incidences. Heaven holds the secret that one affects the other and the other affects the next, in a circle, in a loop, in which all endings are also beginnings. 2004 (22) © MY
Rating: Summary: I LOVED this book Review: I absolutely loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down! The idea of how often and how unknowingly we change other peoples lives has really made me wonder how many lives I have changed and how many people have changed my life as well. If the afterlife is anything like this book we have a lot to look forward to.

When he dies, he meets five people in heaven who explain things about his life to him. He meets people he barely remembers, and he meets people he cares about the most. They each have important lessons that help Eddie sort through his life and put meaning to certain events. This book reads very quickly and will offer a vivid picture of what heaven might be like. It will also inspire you to try to have a positive impact on everyone around you. You just don't know who will end up explaining YOUR life to YOU.
Rating: Summary: Connection To Others In Life Review: I think everyone should read this book. Mitch Albom respects all religions in his heart warming story of an old man that die's to save a little girl from death. When Eddie dies he meets five people that were part of his life. Some he knew very well and the others he never met, but had a connection to his life. Eddie feels that his life was wasted, but the five people he meets show him the truth about life and the true meaning. I plan to read over and over again. It is one of my all time favorite books! Thank you Mitch Albom! I hope you enjoy his book as much as I have.
Rating: Summary: The Five People You Meet in Heaven Review: Sports columnist, radio talk-show host, and author of Tuesdays with Morrie, Albom has written a parable quite different from his best-selling memoir about his old professor but with the potential to follow it as a favorite of the book club circuit. At an oceanside amusement part, 83-year-old maintenance mechanic Eddie is killed while trying to save a little girl. Instead of floating through the cliched tunnel-and-light territory, Eddie meets five people whose lives intersected with his during his time on Earth. The novel comes down firmly on the side of those who feel that life matters, that what we do as individuals matters, and that in the end there will be a quiz. The touchy-feely phobic need not be afraid: this is not judgmental ax-grinding; nor does it favor any religion. Before you finish reading, you can't help thinking about your own life-Albom's whole point, of course. Morrie fans will want to read this first novel, and readers daring to examine their own lives may enjoy as well. For all public libraries
Rating: Summary: Five people you meet in heaven is a must read for all. Review: I will be brief. This book is outstanding. Everyone should read this book, regardless of their religious background. The message is universal, simple, yet astonishingly profound. I am of the opinion that this book should never take up space on a bookshelf, it should be forever in motion, from one person to the next untill it is in tatters. If you havent read this book, read it. If you own this book give it away to a dear friend with instructions to do the same.
