Summary: Everything and a little bit more!
Review: The Hobbit is one of the only books I can sit down and read for hours. It is one of the best fantasy books ever written. It has action, magic, and unique characters. There's something in this book for almost everyone. It even has some humor in it which is rare for most fantasy books. It reminds me of the time of Merlin, with elves, trolls, Dragons, Goblins and dark wizards. The book was very well written and is an all around great story. To me, this book is "my precious."(Quoting gollum). I encourage you to read The Hobbit

Summary: Simplt the finest epic fiction ever crafted.
Review: The Hobbit is the introduction to the brilliance of Tolkien and the wonderful world of Middle Earth. The development of Bilbo, and his supporting cast, draw the reader into their lives and adventures like no other fantasy ever written. With the addition of the Lord of the Rings, often mistakenly listed as a trilogy (it was originally written as one book with three parts), the world of Middle Earth continues to evolve and grow, and fall into greater turmoil. Tolkien creates characters and societies with real prejudices, fears, mistrust, and needs that the perceptive reader can readily identify with and understand. If I was to own but two works of fiction, the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings would comprise my collection.

Summary: My Favorite Book!!
Review: This book is a timeless classic that is going to be read for years to come. I was read this book by my mother when I was young and came back to read it again and again. This story is a great fantasy that you can't put down and will keep you at the edge of your seat. This book sparked my interest in The Lord of the Rings trilogy which I also highly recommend. Trust me definitely a must read.

Summary: The Hobbit had little description in it and no main plot.
Review: I believe the Hobbit was not a fabulouse book the way most people rave about it. The action in the book was hiddem by the words the author used and the characters could haver been described better. I reccomend the book to young readers who enjoy fantasy and adventure. I was hoping to read something more like the works of Mr. Pullman. I also didn't like the adittudes of the characters. Overall the book was mediocre.

Summary: don't get me wrong
Review: The hobbit is actually one of my favorite books. Many of the people who are forced to read this book can't understand it because it is above their level of reading. Hey, I can understand you. Wait until you're ready and try it again. Try to be Bilbo, an elf, or a warg or whatever. You can't enjoy a book if you can't understand what is said. You have to wait and try again. Sure it might not be a five star for you(which I thought to make mine)but you will know why teachers get kis to read this book. Very few kids before high school today are ready for the hobbit. this is a shame, but that is the way it is. The hobbit is only A)how good you make it out to be and B)how well you can understand it. Good-Luck *****

Summary: Some people...
Review: Do you find it interesting that all the people giving this excellent book a rating of one have dozens of spelling and grammar errors in their reviews? I think that is just about the least shocking thing I have ever seen. And can anyone tell me where the schools that "make" students read Tolkien are? At my school we have to read crap like "The Scarlet Letter". I am jealous of you people who were "forced" to read this book! In the sixth grade my teacher suggested that I read "The Hobbit" and L.O.T.R. Since then I have been a Fantasy MANIAC! I followed it up with Terry Brooks and Death Gate and I haven't stopped yet. I owe it all to The Hobbit! How could anyone not like this book?

Summary: One of the greatest books ever!
Review: As a prelude the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, it tells the many(and I mean many) adventures of Bilbo Baggins. In this book you dont know what will happen next. Great for teens to adults. Tolkein was a great author!

Summary: Whoa.......
Review: This book had me totally absorbed. Great detail, descriptions, and enough plot to let me say that this is one of the best books ever written. They don't make books like it these days. 12 dollars isn't enough to get a good copy of this book. It's worth a lot more, if you ask me.
