Summary: No book is perfect, but The Hobbit is pretty darn close.
Review: This book is the best, it's even better than The Lord of the Ring (I know alot of people will hate me for saying that, but it's true). My favorite thing about this book is the way that Bilbo Baggins changes from a boring, respectable hobbit who frets about not having enough hankercheifs to a clever and brave adventurer. The only thing that Tolkein could have done better was the Battle of the Five Armies, which started and ended way to hastily. That aside, this is a fantastic and whimsical adventure yarn to be enjoyed by everyone.

Summary: A wonderful classic!!
Review: Reading through the reviews, I was really quite surprised to read the opinions of those people that thought this to be a horrible book. It is a true classic that I have read several times and I will probably read it again and again until the book falls apart. It is easy to read and the characters are well developed. Those who think that it has way to many details or say it is to complicated should really go back to reading their Dr.Suess books. But for those of you who are at least slightly intellectual and like fanatsies, this is a must read!

Summary: READ THIS BOOK!!!!
Review: My father read this book to me as a child and now as a teenager it is still my favorite book of all time. Anybody who thinks anything else is clearly diillusional. I cried for so long at the ending. I dreamt about it and wept about it. It touched my soul deeper than any book ever has and ever will. The Hobbit is the best book I have ever read and I will continue to think that way until the day I die! The Hobbit is the best book ever written!!!!!!

Summary: Horrible Fantasy
Review: Do not read this book. There was absolutely nothing about answering how long it would take to go by boat or by tomorrow. Doesn't make sense? It doesn't have to make sense it is all fantasy. And what's this thing about hairy feet? Oh yes, the Joy of Cooking was never mentioned as being on Bilbo's cook book shelf in his little Hobbit house. Very disappointing. I would have given the book 0 stars but this isn't an option. And why didn't the author stay alive long enough to defend his work from this vicious critique?

Summary: And exactly what is a Hobbit?
Review: If you have not read this book, you should. It is not a masterpiece, because that word is too general. You may call it that if you wish. This book is smiled upon if you read it for the story, if you think of it as a bedtime story that the speaker made up and that the listeners wanted written down. If you think of it as if you were being told all this by someone who was there, or if you think that you're reading the diary of the person who was there, then this book will be much more fun. ;)

Review: With its whimsical storyline, an in-depth psychoanalysis of its characters, and fantastic wordplay, this is truly a classic to salvage. I loved all the references to Norse mythology (Tolkien was an Anglo-Saxon proffesor)and its adventurous spirit! This is truly a book to cherish!

Review: The Hobbit is the greatest storie ever written. J. R. R. Tolkien does a excellent job of creating the perfect fantacy realm. If you love adventure and great reading make sure you do not miss this great book. Also read the Silmarilian and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. All of them deserve a five star rating.

Summary: Unsatisfying!
Review: This book is a shame because J.R.R. Tolkien writes very well; but the topic is not interesting at all. How can you expect one to read about dwarves fighting a dragon, dwarves going to war with elves, 'Wood-elves' imprisoning dwarves?, or the evil, horrible 'Wargs'!? You can either like or dislike a book like this.
