Rating: Summary: it's like opium Review: After reading the first three chapters, a distinct flavor was lost. The rest of the book was a disapointing. He is writing the story to the absolute beginner and nyone with any experience will be hopelessly bored with it after the first three chapters. Of course after it has set on the shelf for awhile and I actually got used to having it, it krept up on me. Keep it on the shelf and it is a GREAT book. I loved it! It i s very informative and precise. excellnt
Rating: Summary: Fast talking monotonousness Review: Hey .......... wait a ............ minute ..........what did you just ........... say??????????????Basically that's what you'll be saying when you buy this tape. DMK speaks too fast, very fast, very very fast. You'll have to rewind the tape alot to get the proper pronounciation or hear some of the words. Not to attack the individual but his voice is not so soothing and it's monotonous even when he shouts. It's blatantly obvious, especially on the Relaxtion Ritual. And the book doesn't need the tape. Beleive me it doesn't. Spend the money on something else other than the tape. Get a nice tarot deck or something. Or give the money to Charity. Overall this could be much better. THIS COULD BE MUCH MUCH BETTER!
Rating: Summary: Good but not enough, Review: I gave it 3 stars just because isn't good enough. I got the tape and I found the corect pronunciation of the Hebrew words, but unfortunatelly Mr. M. Kraig speaks too fast and he went through the whole book very fast....I couldn't hang up with....!!! I found it too expencive for the information I got from the tape, well, the pronunciation is worth enough, but not enough for the price, just because the tape is too short and on side B of the tape there was the relaxation ritual, but then the tape was empty.....at least 10 minutes, while he could have put something on it.....If you are sure you can the pronunciation of the Hebrew words, don't buy it.....you can buy instead a book with the money you pay for the tape or ask someone tomake a copy of it. The ONLY good information I found were the God's names and Archangels....the Enochians names I already knew how to pronunce them, so for me wasn't worth enough for the money I paied.
Rating: Summary: It's worth it Review: I was very pleased to hear the "correct" way to vibrate a word. Very intresting technique. Id say Kraig did a great job of pronouncing the hebrew words and other words. Good companion to using modern magick.
Rating: Summary: I Basicly agree with the other review of this tape Review: I was very pleased to hear the "correct" way to vibrate a word. Very intresting technique. Id say Kraig did a great job of pronouncing the hebrew words and other words. Good companion to using modern magick.
Rating: Summary: A very good companion resource for the book Modern Magick Review: On Side 1, Donald pronounces the numerous foreign words found in his book "Modern Magick: Eleven Lessons in the High Magickal Arts." He also indicates which lessons and page numbers these words are located in. He speaks rather quickly, but clearly. What is extremely helpful, is his demonstration on how to vibrate words. Something not easily understood, if it is not heard. No further definitions of the words are given - that is what the book is for. Side 2 is Donald reading the Relaxation Ritual found in his book. The ritual is very effective and well read. However, the voice/music mixing on this side could use some improvement.
Rating: Summary: It's worth it Review: The book is awsome, but the cassette is good for a couple thingshe goes over every chapter and tells you how to properly pronounce andvibrate the names thats side A,Side B is way nice he takes you on the relaxing ritual journey and it's so soothing. If you got the book get the tape.
Rating: Summary: Fast talking monotonousness Review: The book Modern Magic is a five star book. The audio tape unfortunately falls short of my expectations. I am a great fan of Donald Michael Kraig, so I feel bad to offer a less than enthusiastic review of any of his works. Unfortunately, in this instance I must. A companion tape to the book, Modern Magic, is a great idea, but there is an element of incompleteness about the tape. One of its aims is to assist readers of the book in the correct pronunciation and vibration of certain words used in the book. However, the presenter speaks too fast on the tape, making it difficult at times for the listner to decipher a clear enunciation of some words. This defeats the purpose of the tape. I wish Mr. Kraig would offer a new version of this tape, going more slowly, and repeat hard to pronounce words as he goes along. I unhesitantly offer 5 stars for the idea. Sadly I grudgingly say 3 stars for the attempt, and maybe only because I believe Mr. Kraig's other works are way excellent.

Rating: Summary: Perfect book for begining the hermetic path Review: This is the book that started me on the hermetic path. Kraig systematically goes through all of the different types of magic in the modern hermetic tradition. It is a most excellent book to get started with. Although it is designed as an introduction to magick, it will keep you busy for some time. I still use it occasionally for quick and easy reference, although I mostly use 777 for that now. However, if I had not started out with this book, I think that my progress would have been much slower. Kraig takes many concepts and presents them in an easy to understand way, without making it so slow that it was written for a three year old. Many mages that I know, (the succesfull ones) started out with this book. If you are a intermediate practioner, then It would probably still be of good use for you. He outlines many of the basics of magick, including: LBRP, Middle Pillar, BRH, Circulation of the body of light, PROPER use of the Tarot, meditation, evocation, invocation, true kabbalistic pathworking, and more. highly recomended
