Summary: Better photo never published!
Review: The quality of World Press Photos is getting better each year, but the subjects entering and dominating each category is also changing (toward more human-aspects, dailylife and war, less politics) and there is an enormous difference between the WPP from the 19-eighties and I think this edition (2000) is the best ever, even better than 2001. Some professional Danish photographers dominate this Millenium-edition with war-photos from several places on The Balkan so emotional that I've cried over some photographs for the first time ..... the best photobook on my shelf. Looking foreward to see what will enter from this sorrowfull autumn.

Thought provoking and raw, this experience is sure to stimulate conversation in areas as diverse as science, politics, and acts of nature. I highly recommend this book as a centerpiece or book case adornment for any home in the world.
