Summary: Lacking clear instructions
Review: The artist's paintings in this book are beautiful, but I found the step-by-step intructions to be very unclear with steps missing. Also, the preliminary drawings are very sketchy and most are not detailed enough to be able to follow along with the artist without considerable redrawing. The concept of this book is very good and with more accurate drawings and more concise directions it could be an excellent learning tool, but as it stands I wouldn't recommend it for the novice watercolorist. If you are looking for projects with clear, concise directions and accurate line drawings I recommend "Step-by-Step Guide to Painting Realistic Watercolors" by Dawn McLeod Helm. "Watercolor Right From the Start" or "Color Right From the Start" by Hilary Page are also both excellent books for the beginning watercolor painter.
