Review: In "As we Were", Ms. Vaule has a captured a choice bit of America as we changed from primarily a rural society to our urban culture of today. While her research and scholarship is evident in this fascinating book, she has let the picture postcards and their simple, often touching messages tell this American chapter - 1905 to 1930. The faces, places and events pictured tell the story of this period more forcefully than any history text description of the period I have read. It is a must for everyone's personal library.
