Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Art Beat Review: Alan Klevit's The Art Beat spreads the word that the arts are for everyone. Whether you are an advocate, collector or just someone who admires and appreciates fine art of any milieu, this book is for you. A fun and fascinating read, The Art Beat is a collection of columns covering all the art around us -including but not limited to painting, sculpture, architecture and music. Klevit has defined this original and insightful "beat" and covers it well.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Art Beat Review: I recently got a copy of this book from a friend. I am a musician and appreciate the author's view about the arts. His columns are an endorsement of the arts and he is passionate about them. He also describes the visual arts in an informative and easy to understand manner. I especially enjoyed his comparisons between the arts, and how we artists have so much in common. I agree with him on censorship and the role of art in society. Want to learn about art and how it affects us all? Get this book. And the author doesn't lecture. He is witty, direct, conversational. Highly recommended for art lovers.
