Summary: appalling reproduction quality
Review: I'm disinclined to write negative reviews, as I think it serves little purpose other than to spread bad feelings, but in this instance, I can't resist, simply because the production values have so dreadfully let down the display of Diaz' wonderful drawings. So bad is the reproduction quality that I feel it is deceitful to call this offering a monograph. In reality it is the equivalent of a crude primitive photocopy, using a machine out of ink, and in need of service. The printing is such that you can't even discern the actual stroke of the pencil ... it is completely blurred and out of focus. La Luz de Jesus, no matter how hip they might think they are, are rip-off merchants. In this age of cheap quality digital printing, this is a shameful production. I don't know whether the egregious quality is done deliberately to sabotage possible bootleg reproduction, but if so, the publishers should put a sticker on the cover .... WARNING: YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER A PREHISTORIC AGE OF PRINTING. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
