Rating: Summary: Sorayama's best yet. Review: About the pictures:
"Venom" is one of Sorayama's later works so the nature of the content is much more extreme (compared to "pin-up" for instance), It takes further the concept of torture and bizzare.
The attention for details and accuracy is amazing (it says so in the book, Sorayama thoroughly studies the subjects he draws by aquiring dozens of books about animals and torture), I can just go on browsing through the pages for hours.
Now if you're looking this book up, probably nothing I wrote so far comes as a surprise to you, as you're already familier with Sorayama's work (if you're new to the name, go check http://www.sorayama.net/ and become a smarter person!). This brings me to the other parts of the book: Sorayama's story.
Everything about the early sketches during his student days and freelancer jobs right up to becoming an accomplished independent artist who pitches his own concepts and ideas, is being told in first person.
Finally, a bonus: a priceless step-by-step of one of Sorayama's illustration.
This book is a MUST for all Sorayama's fans and collectors.
