Review: First written 20 years ago and later updated, this book clearly explains the basic premises to the understanding and study of any dance form, new or old. Ms. Blair stresses that rhythm differentiates the dances from each other. Thus anybody will have no problem learning any dance. For me, it was a rediscovery of the dance principles which I had always known for decades yet had simply taken for granted. The book has given me a new perspective and renewed creativity in dance teaching.
