Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Required Thinking Review: Lawler is one of New York's Metro Pictures gallery, big 80's, appropriation-based artists whose work looks more and more profound with every passing year. This is a beautifully produced book that shows off Lawler's work to it's best advantage-double page bleeds are abundant. Her work explores how context informs and colors the viewer's experience. The subject matter is the art work of others. If it all sounds rather academic, it's not. In Lawler's hands it takes on a formal elegance. The work is fascinating and thought provoking.
